I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY IN THE WORLD THE FLYERS WOULD SIGN JEFF HACKETT TO A 2 YEAR DEAL ON THE FIRST DAY OF FREE AGENCY. POTVIN IS AVAILABLE AND SURELY THERE ARE TEAMS LOOKING TO DUMP SOME SALARY BFORE THE CBA. WHAT A JOKE. THAT GUY NEEDS TO GO.

Wow thanks for breaking the news to me I hadn't heard yet. I had a feeling he would be going there but they shoulda waited to see if they had a shot at Cujo.

i COMPLETELY AGREE... OR AT LEAST TOOK A RUN AT POTVIN OR TRADING TO GET BURKE BACK... THEN AGAIN I GUESS THERE ISNT A WHOLE LOT OF DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BURKE AND HACKETT BUT CUJO OR POTVIN OBVIOUSLY WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER.

Just imagine Detroit could of got Simon Gagne in a Cujo deal. Although the odds are stacked against the Wings. Every team knows that Detroit must get rid of at least one of their goalies so the opposing team has the power in the trade. So Detroit probably won't get fair market value for Cujo but I'm sure they could get a guy like Martin Lapointe back from Boston.

I think right now ANYBODY can get Marty Lapointe from Boston but nobody wants to pay the $5 mill especially not the wings who are letting Sergei go and asking Stevie to take less money. Boston owuld have to eat some of the contract and they have a reputation for being penny pinchers over there so that probbaly wont happen either. This is going to be interesting to see what the wings do. Would it be too far off to think Cujo could end up an Av?? Perhaps a Cujo for Reinprecht or Battaglia w/pick???

Yeah Marty would be a tough call. I think he was a bit overated because in Detroit he played with so many great players.
