That one is truly stupid. Once again greed destroys a friendship.

Anyone know what happened with Bonds' 73rd homerun ball?

I can't imagine anyone spending $500K or $1M for that Barry Bonds home run ball.

surely, there are better investments out there.

I wonder what happened to the owner who bought Mark McGwire's #62 home run ball? Didn't he pay $500,000 for it?

He lost money on it really quick.

No matter how wealthy one is, losing money matters.

It just goes to show that collecting baseball memorabilia is not just a hobby or a business -- it's an industry, a big industry

Last I heard it was ruled that the ball would be sold and both parties would split the money 50/50. I haven't heard anything on it being sold yet though.

I can't seem to find it but I could have sworn that ball went for a lot less than what was expected. Like maybe $20k or something. Someone set me straight if I'm wrong on that but I remember being surprised how low the winning bid was compared to recent big ball sells.

Its ridiculous, the guy who first caught should get it, the other guy stole it from him when he got tackled by th crowd.

Alex Popov and Patrick Hayashi haven't agreed on much since the two claimed sole ownership of Barry Bonds' record-setting 73rd home run ball.

But on Wednesday -- more than 16 months after Popov momentarily gloved the ball and Hayashi emerged from the scrum with the valuable collectible – the two decided on a firm that would market the ball, whose proceeds would be equally split between the two.

Isn't this special!!!!!!!!!
I'll bid up to $25.

So after 1 1/2 years of trials and lawyers fees, they decide to just sell it and split the money 50/50.

Just goes to show you how much the value of famous HR balls have decreased. Still, do you know how many cards you could get with $450K?
