I just wanted to say hi to the community as I am new here.

I have been collecting for over 20 years, I have lived every aspect of hockey since I was a child.

I have many thousand cards, and have them indexed. So if you need to finish off a set, want cards you can not find, or just want that one personal card odds are I have it.

I am not a pro collector/trader and just today got come graded cards as a thank you for helping a friend, and thought to hunt down a community such as this.

I will reach a few hundred posts fast as I love hockey and collecting.

I do not know if this is an issue here but I am not looking for any dates.

Hope to find an active and friendly community here, and thank you for allowing me in.

Welcome to the group! Do you collect anything in particular or just trade for whatever catches your eye? My wants are listed in my sig (and in more detail on my website), if you have anything available I'd love to swing a deal!

I love vintage, and error cards.
But as a hockey fan, I just have collected everything and anything I can get my hands on.

I lived at 21 Carlton street for many years, one building between me and Maple Leaf Gardens, Many sigs as the building between us was a hotel where many visiting teams stayed. Many odd ball collectables... ... from the dumpsters behind the gardens (thats right I went that low).

Odd things like game used (and broken) sticks (all of which the owners are known) many I have had signed.

My happy and saddest day came when the Leafs moved to the ACC.
As they set up all the cars and all the poepl in them I had every player sign everything I could hold, then ran back upstairs and reloaded.

Lanny McDonald, and other old timers and many (at the time) current players drank alot at the bar across the street and a coffee shop at the end of the street at young street. Where they would hang out and talk just like a normal person, but Lanny took the cake. He would talk the ears off of you if you even looked like you were gonna say hi.

What really got me into collecting is a night when Felix Potvin broke his stick, and after thats when a friend and I got the idea to check the dumpsters out back, when we found the stick it clicked that I lived in a perfect location for sigs, rare odd ball collectebles and such.

It takes you over quick.

I tried to collect a few bricks from the Gardens but the cops stopped me, when I worked at the Gardens for one season they were redoing a section and got to take 40 bricks home (yes this time I was allowed) and got pictures to show people they were real so I could sell them.

But they are still stacked in a mini wall with my many other odd things from the history not only of the Leafs, but many many other players.

The only thing I have yet to collect that I really want is Gary's blood (gary bettman), which I will take how ever he wishes to give it lmao.

Sorry for the rant, never really had anyone ask me that before.

Another thing I have alot of that Americans find very interesting are french cards.

I was told (not sure if true) that the french cards were printed in much less numbers and thus a nicer collecteble.

Welcome to the club, Stray..

I'm fairly new myself but I think you'll like it here - the people are great and I have yet to encounter a "bad" trader! First thing you need to do is post up some wants and create yourself a trade list or photo bucket so we can all see what you've brought to the table! I'm a Leafs collector myself (among other things) so I'm looking forward to see what you've salvaged from the Gardens! BTW there is plenty of threads already started where you can share photos of your collection.

Happy trading!
Halo

So, the "My inventory" is not used to see what I have and I do not need to spend the hours filling it up?

That's what it's used for - yes.. and makes using the Trade Manager here much easier.. you're just the first person I've really come across that is using it! lol

Oh, I thought everyone used it and it was required.

It is also helping me as I have recently started updating my card database.

Just really sucks you can not do bulk card uploads.

Welcome to the site. This is probably the best site going for either buying, selling or trading cards. Best way to to it is just post a trade page and include your wants in it also.

I do not think I would be much of a trader, I would sell cards but am running out of room to keep them and all my other stuff.

I think I am hitting the stage in life where its time to get rid of the "stuff" and only keeping what has meaning or value to me personally.
