Final Ratings (out of 5):

Base Set – 5
Fun – 4.5
Overall Design – 4.5
Value – 3.5
Rebuy – 3

Total – 20.5/25 (82%)

It was exciting to see some of the old Topps card designs infused together in the base set. Limiting each design to ten card mini sets was great. Each mini set contained different groups of people and events to keep things focused and organized.

Always a huge fan of Chrome inserts/parallels. The added beauty of these was seeing the cards numbered to 1776, especially when you call it "American Heroes Edition." The chrome cards are limited to the first 100 cards in the set. There was a wide array of insert sets. Ranging from Medal winners to various Spaceflight programs, a lot of information and history is covered.

Have to admit, I was psyched when I saw the wiring card from Spacelab. It's great to see memorabilia such as this as long as it's contained in a non-sport type release. However, wasn't too keen on the shirt relic. It's not because it wasn't some "big name" person. It was due to realizing how many people opening this product would have any clue who Col. Roberts is/was (and yes, I do). In a non-sport release, it's crucial that the chase cards are not lost on the consumer. I can see many seeing this card and saying, "Who is this?" or "What the heck?"

I was unsure what my thoughts would be before I opened this box. I was tentative about this release as I could see it being a waste of a product. However, I quickly realized how decent it was after a couple of packs. It was refreshing to see certain events and people honored, including lesser known heroes. If you are in the market to resell your cards, this is not for you. But if you enjoying collecting and would like to learn about history as well as the amazing heroism of mankind, this is definitely for you.

Once again, I'd like to thank our wonderful sponsors at Topps for giving us the opportunity to open and review this release. For more information on all their products, check them out at www.topps.com (http://www.topps.com).

Looks like you can pull some cool stuff from the product. The Wiring card numbered? I've seen two breaks of this product and both produced the wire card.

Space wiring? Interesting to say the least and very different. I also love how all the designs from the past come together in this set. It gives you a history lesson as well as shines light on some little known American heroes. Very solid set.
