EDIT: Dang it, wanted to put this in Show and tell, lol

Waited 9:30 in the morning (long *** line!) until 2 for the signing. No pictures could be taken, but Upper Deck reps were there, so there were UD COAs put into each book.

Bought only 2 books, but when I saw that there were UD COAs, I went back to get 1 more book and they were sold out.

Really tired right now, and class is at 4 PM too....but here are pics of the books:

nice! i heard about it earlier last week. did you even get to see lebron actually signing the books? lol...and I'm surprised to see LBJ actually using his REAL auto on those books and not his UD auto since they would be authenticated by UD themselves...nice items to have though!

lol, that's awesome. they've already flooded Ebay with BIN's of around $100. That didn't take long. Great way to get an auto of him. I already have a couple auto'd books (Dean Smith and President Carter). I might pick one of these up to add to my bookshelf.

Moved this to Show & Tell for you, Franklin. Nice pickups! Well worth the long lines, I'm sure! Congrats!

That's a couple of sick LBJ auto'd books pick ups! Sounds like LeBron was being LeBron and too good to meet, greet, and sign the books in front of his awaiting fans. Nevertheless, it is authenticated by the UD reps there with a COA and tamper-proof sticker, so can't beat that. Congrats!

that's his actual, real auto...the one he signs for UD is UD's own licensed way that they want LBJ to sign and they don't want him to sign his particular UD auto anywhere else, as it says in his contract with them...so this that he was signing on the books is what he would sign for people outside of UD, of which he isn't supposed to do but does somewhat anyway.

Same with Carmelo Anthony. Yeah Lebron signs his UD auto in person but I guess with UD supervision he couldn't have. But Carmelo in person signs CA instead of the regular Cl Aty.

Thanks guys! I was actually hoping for the "23" UD auto, but this was really nice; staff were saying he was signing really quick and almost everyone would get their books signed. I'm not complaining, but if it wasn't for the UDA holo and COA, I don't think anyone would believe LeBron signed this way lol.

Hey, I was even surprised Bron was willing to do a book signing. People in NYC were crazy for LeBron, I can't even imagine the crowds and lines for the Barnes & Nobles in Akron.

I mean if you think about it, if Lebron doesn't get hurt, he's going to be up there with Jordan by the end of his career (maybe not with as many championships). I understand that Lebron didn't change the game the way Jordan did, but I look at this as if Jordan was doing a signing while he was still active. For most of us this is going to be the only way to get an IP auto of Lebron.

Yep, limit was 5 books per person. I didn't bring enough money for 5 and when I tried to get a third book, they sold out. Sad thing is that people in Cleveland had limits of 1 or 2 books per person...not sure what that says about LeBron and Cleveland though. :winking0071:
