ISO NJ 30 G has earned the Super Collectors title for his player collection of Chris Douglas-Roberts. Matt has over half of CDR's cards to date, approaching 60%! He also has nearly two-thirds of his memorabilia cards available so far, and over two-fifths of his autographs as well.
Total Cards: 162/298 (54.4%)
Total Rookie Cards: 16/18 (88.9%)
Total Memorabilia Cards: 55/83 (66.3%)
Total Autograph Cards: 41/101 (40.6%)
Here are his Top Ten cards!
Murad Yellow plate 1/1
http://i579.photobucket.com/albums/ss238/M_F_M_c/CDR%20-%20PC/CDRMuradyellowplate1.jpg
This was my first CDR 1/1, and I picked it up after connecting with its previous owner online. He lives in the same city as I do and got the plate in a box of Murad from the same shop I bought my two boxes from.
Bowman Chrome plate 1/1
http://i579.photobucket.com/albums/ss238/M_F_M_c/CDR%20-%20PC/CDRBowmancyanplate.jpg
This is the only 1/1 I have that I traded for. I traded another 1/1 plate, this one from 08-09 Topps Chrome, and a Murad mini to a collector in Japan.
Co-Signers Quad RPS auto /25*
http://i579.photobucket.com/albums/ss238/M_F_M_c/CDR%20-%20PC/CDRCo-signersquadauto.jpg
One of my favorite eBay steals, I picked up this quad auto for about $65 shipped. CDR being paired with D. Rose has been a bit of a hurdle for me, but I’m hoping for other good breaks like I had on this card!
Topps Hardwood Signature Fabrics Redwood /5
http://i579.photobucket.com/albums/ss238/M_F_M_c/CDR%20-%20PC/CDRHardwoodredwood.jpg
I’m pretty proud of my location and pursuit of this one. Bored at work one morning, I did a Google image search for “Chris Douglas-Roberts” and found this card in someone’s Photobucket. I then did a search for their Photobucket username and found them as a member of an Australian trading site. I joined, had my account approved and PMed the member. After telling him about my CDR collecting, he agreed to trade it to me for a card I would purchase off eBay and send to him. It took a little bit for his card to get there and for the CDR to get to me, but it was quite worth it.
Exquisite rc jsy/au 114/225
http://i579.photobucket.com/albums/ss238/M_F_M_c/CDR%20-%20PC/CDR_Exquisite_114.jpg
My first Exquisite card of any kind (now one of three CDR Exquisite RCs in my collection), and a very nice patch.
UD Black jsy/au /50 (any of them)
http://i579.photobucket.com/albums/ss238/M_F_M_c/CDR%20-%20PC/CDR_UD_Black_6.jpg
I wish I knew why I pursue these cards so hard. It might be the price point of UD Black boxes, I don’t know. But, I know I want to get as many of the print run as possible. I have a good head start (seven and counting).
UD Premier jsy/au /15
http://i579.photobucket.com/albums/ss238/M_F_M_c/CDR%20-%20PC/CDRUDPremier.jpg
This might be the best looking CDR in my collection right now. I picked up the redemption on eBay for a decent price, and it arrived a few months back (while I am still waiting on two other CDR rc redemptions from UD). The patches are nice, but the card composition is just real crisp and clean in my opinion.
Bowman Chrome refractor auto /50
http://i579.photobucket.com/albums/ss238/M_F_M_c/CDR%20-%20PC/CDRBowmanChromeautoref2.jpg
This was the first CDR auto in my collection, and I pulled it from a box. Nothing fancy about it, but special to me.
Murad blue mini black bordered
http://i579.photobucket.com/albums/ss238/M_F_M_c/CDR%20-%20PC/CDRMuradblueminiblack-border.jpg
This was the last piece of my Murad CDR puzzle (other than plates, of course). It’s hard to tell, with a quick glance, the black-bordered minis from the normal ones. I’d asked a number of people who busted multiple Murad boxes, but to no avail. So, searching on Beckett’s shop site one evening, I saw one listed. It just happened to be for sale from a seller who I had credit with from a previous transaction. So, after waiting patiently and searching it out, I acquired the card for free. Also, Murad is probably my favorite set of the year, in terms of design.
Press Pass Teammates black and white
http://i579.photobucket.com/albums/ss238/M_F_M_c/CDR%20-%20PC/CDR_Press_Pass_Teammates_black_and_.jpg
A lot of people dog on Press Pass. I can see some of their issues, but I’m a big fan of their cards. These black-and-white parallels are tough as heck to find, and Press Pass never announced any kind of print run or insertion rate. As it is, I have two of the three CDRs in the set. This one came from another Australian collector who was selling off some of his Derrick Rose cards. All three of them together will look great, once I find that third one (the black-and-white of card #6, the base card).
