What are these? I saw them in the Upper Deck 40 Rainbow thing. They were advertising for Mark McGwire's Buy Back Cards.

They are just what they sound like. Companies buy these cards back from private collectors. Usually, they have the players sign these buy backs and reinsert them back in current packs. Or like Topps does, they buy back their old 1980's crap and insert them back into their 2002 packs as vintage buy back cards.

I know I'd be pissed if I pulled out some crappy 80's card. Although I'd be one happy guy if I pulled a Ron Kittle back in '83!

Which cards are buyback and how much would you get? Is it very common?

I got lucky and pulled a vintage buy-back from a pack of 2002 topps series 2 last year. Check it out! Its card #1 from 1967 topps and pictures hall of famers Brooks Robinson and Frank Robinson. The card is in pretty good condition too. I was happier to get this than some common relic or auto.

The american pie cards are sometimes listed as baseball edition. You can go to beckett.com and type in star trek and it might come up.
