Hello everyone!

I'm really excited to see all the great conversation here! I would like to remind some of you that we have created forums just for sports talk.

If you could please try and put strictly sports related subjects in those forums and keep the sports card discussions here I would really appreciate it!

Thanks,

BGray

BGray - I just wanted to send thanks to you and your colleagues for setting up this very COOL forum

What a fantastic way to discuss sports, not to mention trades, a few of which I am currently in the process of completing.

Also, I love the fact that any replies to any posts in any of these forums are e-emailed to me. Helps me keep up with the multitude of posts I write. What a FANTASTIC idea.

Just to let you know, if your mailbox starts getting a little too cluttered from this messageboard, you can turn that option off in your profile. Also, if there's some that you don't care to follow anymore, you can selectively cancel which threads you want to be subscribed to. Just click on the PROFILE link at the top of any page and you'll see all the threads you're subscribed to.

I am guessing that you are the maker of this board? So far it seems pretty cool. I have been collecting for years...and never found anything like this. I still have plenty to learn but I plan to visit often.

Peace.

I am rather new here as well. When I signed up, you received a CardCash point for each post. That changed the same day I signed up. I understand why they changed it though. Some people were posting absolutely worthless posts or one-word replies just to get points.

Now you receive points for referrals. That makes it difficult for some of us who don't really know fellow collectors around us but unfortunately, that's the way it has to be.

The site is very helpful and informative and I'm glad I came across it by chance. I hope this helps explain it a bit. At least it should explain why some people have so many points.

Hey. Ive got a question. Ive got a 1933 Goudy Gum card. it is the Napoleon (Larry) Lajoie card (card #106). it is in REALY good condition and it also says the value of it is $10,000.
Not $7500 but $10,000. And it is not Napoleon "Nap" Lojoie Like i see is the copy.
somebody please tell me if it is realy worth that much.

Welcome to SCF.

While I am not an expert in vintage material, I do know that you must absolutely get it graded, and take as good of care of it as possible. I can send you a certificate you can send in to get a free grading certificate from Beckett, but I think you should just pay full charges to Beckett Vintage Grading. Their website is here: www.beckett.com/grading

Whether it is worth $10,000 is a different matter, and depends on where you sell it. I don't know enough about them to make that judgement, but I know you must get it graded. Grading it also gives you a sonically sealed case that will keep the card in good condition, either if you decide to keep or sell it.

If you need more information, feel free to PM or email me, and I'll get you on the right track. You might also want to call the radio program "The Traders Speak". They would give you some info on the card, and they know collectibles better than I do. Their website is www.trspk.com .

I'm not sure how much it's worth, but you have a REAL gem.
Regards,
Mike
