FINAL RATINGS
Base Set - 3
Overall Design - 4.5
Fun - 4
Value - 3
Rebuy - 3
Total - 17.5/25 (70%)
SP Signature strikes with a stunning base card design. Encapsulating the full body player photos is a background in which the player seems to be exploding out of the middle. The sides looks like stainless steel with a ribbon detail running throughout the card.
The only insert is the Michael Jordan Legacy program highlighting all the games in Jordan's illustrious career.
As the name implies, it's all about signatures. Each pack/box yields two autograph cards, either individual or multiple. There are the SIGnificance Autographs as well as the 2 Star, 3 Star and 4 Star Autographs.
All in all, SP Signature really feels like a way to put another product out before the NBA exclusive licensing deal is initiated. While the base cards are stellar, any release that has 1 pack per box should have serial numbered base cards. Especially when the base cards are the mirror image of another product, SP Game Used. Even the SIGnificance Autograph set is a mirror image. This just seems like an attempt to split one product into two.
Once again, I'd like to thank our wonderful sponsors at Upper Deck for giving us the opportunity to open and review this releases. For more information on all their products, be sure to check them out at www.upperdeck.com.
