Okay, I have had a lot going on today and did not get a good look at the card. I have the one that says Jeff Pendleton instead of Terry. How much, if any, is it worth and the corrected one. Thanks! If you all get tired of all my many many questions just tell me. I'll cry but you can tell me! LOL!

Hello once again! Question #1: Is the 1987 Topps Glossy white on the back? If not then what is? Question #2: What is Tiffany and what does it look like? Well, that's all...for now, lol! Thanks!

Well to answer you question.

I don't think Topps ever had a Glossy set. That was Fleer.

Topps has Topps Tiffany and Fleer had Fleer Glossy.

Both Glossy and Tiffany were made on much thicker and higher quality cardboard. They usually have a very slick/shiny look to them on the front.

If you have a normal card from 1987 you should be able to see the difference between the two.

Thanks for the response! The front is shiny and the back is white. So is it Tiffany? Also, I have some 1985 Donruss cards. One of them is #PC 3. Okay I give, what is the PC?

The 1985 Donruss is a Wax Box Card. It was available on the bottom of a box. Its of Ron Kittle and is worth 25 cents in mint condition.

And Topps did have a 1987 Glossy set. My mistake. It was called 1987 Topps Glossy Send-Ins.

If you give me the player and number I can tell you if its from the Glossy Send-Ins set or not.

If you have the shiny cards then they are Topps Tiffany and Topps Tiffany Traded cards.

If they aren't shiny and on high quality cardboard then they are just regular cards.

The Topps Glossy Send-Ins was a mail away set.

By the way, I am a blonde. So the cards I have are Tiffiny. Other shiny cards from other sets are Tiffiny? You see, I have always had trouble figuring out those kinds of cards. When you get boxes of mixed cards at the flea market, there are no instructions, lol! Thank you for all your help!

Lady T --- if you think this Topps Glossy / Tiffany, etc is bad

wait until you get to late 1990s - 2003 cards

There are so many subsets that it'll make your head spin. It's an astounding number, and I don't know how people keep up with all the cards produced from all the card companies

Oh honey, been there done that! I'll probably have more questions about that too! Try collecting for three people if you want confusing! I have to write down what everyone has so I know what everyone has, lol! Plus, I bought three hugh boxes from the flea market so I'm having to go through all of mine again. I just decided to start over. Now that I found this place, I am beginning to know what I'm doing!

Oh yea, another question. 1985 Donruss. I have an old (2001) Beckett price guide. In it there is #534B Terry Pendleton. I have the Terry Pendleton but what is the B? It says Corr. (correction?) What?

Its worth $1.50 from a book back in 1997. Its a big Beckett book that has everything listed and that's really the only place you can find prices for cards like that.

BTW the one with Terry on it is worth $8.

Yea, you might know I'd have the Jeff one. Guess I'm going to have to break down and buy a new Beckett. I have a 2001. Thanks!

Lady T- I dont know if this would be easier, but you can try www.beckett.com/priceguides/lookup.asp . you can look up any card for free, instead of buying the beckett which doesnt list all of the cards. Just a suggestion, but do whatever you want :D

Not to further confuse things, but I think those glossy cards came from rack packs in 1987, and they are not Tiffany or mail-ins. I have a bunch myself, and that's where they came from. Topps had them in 1986 too, if I remember...

I think you are talking abut the Topps Glossy All-Stars that were 1 per rack pack.

Those were glossy but that wasn't what she had.

If your collections get too big or get tired of writing them down, there are plenty of programs out there that are a lot easier for organising your cards than writing them down.

Too late, lol!! Thanks though. I have been collecting for three years and I have a lot of cards that came in mixed boxes from the flea market. I have no idea where they belong. It's kind o hard to organize them when you havn't got a clue!

if you're doing inventory of your cards, do what I do -- trade (which I did) or else buy a Beckett Baseball Plus magazine

It comes out quarterly (one every 3 months) and is a much thicker magazine, with many many more cards listed than in your typical monthly magazine.

The Beckett Plus costs $9.99 + tax

And I've been using it to highlight all the cards I have (that way, I don't have to keep checking which cards I have in case I do trades).

I am waiting to get the new Basketball and Foot ball Quarterly as well

I'll see if I can find it. You see, I'm disabled so I don't get out a lot(it's my back). that's why when I found this place I thought I had struck gold! I am gonna start trying to do some trading as soon as I figure out what I have. Right now they are all mixed up in boxes! Thanks for the info!

I use 5 Star Collector which is nice and easy, and I can quickly check which cards I have and where they're stored(along with all the other info and stuff). I got it for $10 on ebay. I'll try and find the website for it, but you can also try going on Google and doing a search for something like "Trading Card Software"

Yes, exactly! That is what I thought she had, but I didn't realize there were different glossy cards from that year. I had bought a lot of rack packs that year, so I have a bunch of these laying around (most of them are not "All-Stars" anymore, though!)...

Lady T

So what I have is glossy, not tiffany? What's the difference again?
