I received this ball a few Christmases ago. I am a big fan of Jeter, but I am a little unsure of the authenticity of the ball. Would you all give me an opinion on this ball? It would be much appreciated.

I am not an expert but if you want my opinion I would say that it does not look real. To be sure though I would recommend sending it in to PSA/DNA to get their opinion if you feel that it is an actual Jeter auto.

Jeter's signatures are almost never that clean. He also always signs with a line that goes well below the rest of the letters. This ball does not have any of the lines extend past the base of the rest of the letters. As I said I am not an expert and I could be 100% wrong. I am just stating my opinion and to be sure get it checked by a professional.

This fake was sold by the hundreds on ebay back in the early to mid 2000's.

Don't waste your money on any authentication, its bad.

That really stinks...I guess I'm on the lookout for a Jeter autograph.

Since there are so many Jeter fakes, I would recommend only buying a Steiner Jeter auto. Steiner is one of the most trusted companies in the business and they have a contract with Jeter and most of the Yankees. You will prob pay a little more, but with a guy like Jeter it's worth it to know your item is 100% legit.

That is a great deal, I've been looking to get a Steiner Jeter baseball for a while now and they rarely go for under $200. I think the full retail price on Steiner's site is like $400 or $500.
