Description The 2007-2008 hockey edition of SPx features a great looking base set which is sure to catch the eye of avid set builders. As per last year, the SPx pattern can be seen in the background of each base card along with a picture of the player in action, and a close up on his face on the right as below.

The box contains 18 packs and each pack contains four cards. In our box we pulled 67 base cards of the 100 included in the set and no duplicates. We also pulled four of the popular spXtreme inserts, one of which was a highly sought after spectrum parallel with a print run of 25. Furthermore, the box yielded two rookie game used autographed jersey cards as well as a rookie jersey and a standard rookie. On the pure memorabilia front, we also found a winning combo card featuring two jersey swatches one of which was multicoloured and a winning materials card which also displayed two swatches. 2007-2008 spXtreme Spectrum Insert X56 Nicklas Backstrom 20/25

Overall, this was a great break, above the stated odds. The highlight of the box was no doubt the Spectrum parallel of one of the hottest rookies of the moment Nicklas Backstrom which books at $60 on Beckett. On average, a box should contain one autographed rookie jersey but this one included two. SPx is in my view a very good product and of very high quality for the investment required. This box was purchased for $109 which is less than the value of the cards pulled. I will be buying SPx again and probably in the very near future!
