2008 Topps Rookie Progression Football Hobby Box - Click Image to Close

I’m a little saddened to see the Topps Draft Picks and Prospects tag be dropped, but Topps Rookie Progression is a nice, new touch to the DPP brand.

The name Progression comes from the new style checklist Topps is using for this product.

With DPP, there were no legends and just a hand full of current stars. However, Progression shows the progression from legends, to current stars, to the newest draft class.

The base set of DPP was always formatted the same: top veterans and then rookies. But, Progression brings a new taste to the checklist.

The 220 card set features 165 current stars and NFL legends and 55 draft picks.

There is also a great new 1/1 insert which takes the letters from Senior Bowl jersey nameplates.

But what else can you expect to find in your box if you buy one? According to the Topps website, Rookie Progression is due out May 14, but most other sites have the release as May 21.
