I still remember sitting on my hideous fake brown leather couch watching Game 6 of the 1991 World Series between the Minnesota Twins and the Atlanta Braves. With the game tied and going into extra innings and the Twins’ championship hopes on the line, my father was more than willing to let a much younger me stay up well past my bed time to watch the end of the game. I was 6 at the time, and starting to doze off…but I managed to wake up for the bottom of the 11th inning. With a 2-1 count, More >

As we embark upon the new season, I’d like to share what the 2012 season meant to me and my son.
On June 24, 1976, my dad changed my life when he took me to my very first baseball game. I remember the event well. We were in Houston on vacation and we went to the Astrodome to see the Houston Astros play the Los Angeles Dodgers. But it was not only the game that I enjoyed, but the entire experience. Now, I will admit I haven’t been a hockey fan for long and haven’t followed the game as long as most of the members on the site but when I finally did get into it, I was hooked. When I was More >

This year’s shortened NHL season is going to prove to be a monotonous challenge, so to speak. Fans, although ecstatic that hockey is back, are more than likely not too excited about the schedule. Not facing off against out-of-conference opponents, playing against teams twice in a row, and what seems like an ultra-repetitive schedule in general might make fans shy away from the sport a bit. But for those dedicated fans who stuck with the league through the lockout, and look to stay dedicated to their team throughout the season, this article is for you. I More >

This is my tale of the history in my eyes of the revolution of the parallel set. I have been a collector since I was around nine years old. I was really never interested in collecting a certain player or team, I enjoyed them all. Then along came 1994 and Pinnacle released its parallel set, Museum Collection, into that year’s baseball cards. I was hooked. I guess it was the starburst effect that really caught my eye with these. I tried to put the set together as well as the Artist Proofs set, but there were More >
