Perfect Card to Invest in

By Michael Reuben aka mreuben

My brother worked a part time job a number of years ago in a card shop that we would often frequent; the Ball Park. We had been going to this store as a family since they brought me in a shopping cart so I wouldn’t knock anything off the display cases. One of the great brick and mortar stores that has closed up over the last dozen years or so. Anyways, whenever he reflects upon this job of his, one story is always retold.

I’ve Got 99 Problems but a “Coutch” Ain’t One

By Alan Chen aka RiceBonds2Mntna2Rice

I’d like to give special thanks to those members who, over the course of 15 months, either traded these beloved pieces to me or sent the cards that helped me land them.

This was my first Ice RC /99. I remember watching people break boxes of 09-10 Ice last year and thinking to myself that what they pulled out was almost too colorful to be believed.

At the time, I didn’t know there were 4 different Tiers of RCs, but I enjoyed looking at every one. Honestly, stealing a glimpse of a base card was itself a treat. More >

Philadelphia – The Dreamers of Dreams

By Joe Mosley aka LGB Cards

If you are a Flyers fan you may not want to read this but if you do please don’t be mad, this is just my opinion. The Flyers have come close to the cup two years in a row now and made some serious moves this off season. Unfortunately for them, these moves and their current mindset will be there demise. The Flyers added two of the biggest names in this years free agent pool when they added Ilya Bryzgalov and the legendary Jaromir Jagr, but at what price? Any NHL fan would tell you More >

Ceiling Lifted – Hope you Don’t Notice

By Joe Mosley aka LGB Cards

I am extremely excited for this upcoming season in hockey. I have been a Blues fan my entire life and have been waiting for this for a long time. Here is St. Louis we have a history of getting players after their prime, Lalime, Fuhr, Gretzky, and so on, but things have changed here in St. Louis. Not since the Blues run at the cup, almost 40 years ago now, have the Blues had such promise between the pipes as we now do in Jaroslav Halak. Halak set many Blues franchise records this past More >

The Complete Account on my JJ Hickson Personnal Collection

By Cavsfanatic21

People often ask me why I have such a passion for collecting cards of current Sacramento King, JJ Hickson. Although it may sound very easy to explain, it is somewhat of a mouthful. To start this explanation, I should give everyone a quick synopsis of my years as a collector.

When I was younger, I used to collect cards of all sports. However, back then there were no cards as there are now in the hobby. The most I would do back then is what most kids that age would do. On occasion, I would go to the local K-Mart More >

Young Collectors: Show them Respect

By Brian Giaquinta aka Size17shoes

In the not-so-distant past, I was visiting a local card shop looking for some common football cards. I use these cards when I send away for through the mail autograph requests. While I was in this store, a young pair of teens came walking through the door. They brought along with them a box of cards. Upon further inspection, I realized these young men only had common cards from the early 1990s inside the box. As I stood and observed the interaction between the shop owner and these two young men, something became apparent: the shop More >
