A Bumpy Return to Collecting
Aug 5th
By RiceBondsMntna2Rice
Ever had one of those weeks where you realize you’re trying too hard get a trade done? Yeah me too. After some time away from the hobby, I was eager to again experience the rush that comes from making two collections better all at once.
My last trade left only good memories since it was two friends helping each other out with their PCs, netting me this card:
A modest card to most but significant because it’s my first multicolor jersey swatch of Martin St. Louis.
But instead of finding my stride, I spent the better part of my return trying to More >
Mike Trout’s Rookie Season

Have you ever heard of George Watkins? Sounds a lot like a local Congressman, or maybe a long time television actor, right? Well, unless you guessed rookie ballplayer for the 1930 St. Louis Cardinals of the National League, you would be dead wrong.
Why am I bringing up a pre-war ballplayer with fewer than 900 career games played? Because until Mike Trout this year, no other rookie since 1901, playing in more than 80 games had put up these video game type numbers: .350+ AVG, .410+ OBP, .600+ SLG, and 15+ HRs. That’s 112 years of history, More >

Half of the people who are about to read this article are going to agree, have their own point of view and a level head about the topic at hand. The other half, not so much… They will most likely think its more Leafs bogus because let’s face it, either you love them or you hate them.
I grew up in a family who loved the Ottawa Senators (maybe that’s why I hate them?) but somehow, someway since day one I would always cheer for the Leafs and man did I get heat for it, especially living More >
Golf’s Triumphant Return
Jul 10th

The year was 2005, Annika Sorenstam was dominating the LPGA field. Tiger Woods seemed all but invincible on a golf course. Just a few years earlier, the golf card all collectors would be after was released, Tiger Woods’ rookie card. With all these wondrous events occurring in the world of golf, one could not have expected that we would loose a major segment of sports cards. The following year, Upper Deck put a cap on the golf division of their program, and us golf fans were left wondering what our future would look like.
Fast forward to 2012, More >

MLB’s Prince Fielder is my favorite player. I last went to a game in 2008 with my father which likes the Cardinals I might add. I love when we go to games together because he always brags about the Cardinals while I get the last laugh with the bragging. The reason I like the Brewers was because of Prince Fielder when I was young my father showed me a bobble head of him and it said 50 home runs! Now to me, when I was little, that was a lot of home runs. Then for a More >

With the 2011-12 season having concluded in the coronation of the Los Angeles Kings as Stanley Cup Champions, hockey fans can now turn their attention to the bustling activities of the off-season as they prepare for what will hopefully be a full 2012-13 campaign.
