Patrick Roy Biography and Best Hockey Cards

By Karine Hains, Editor-In-Chief

October 5th 1965 is an important date for the world of hockey. Not for one but for two reasons. On that day, both Mario Lemieux and Patrick Roy were born in the province of Québec. No one could have known then the kind of impact both players would have on the sport but 43 years later, there is no denying that they changed the face of the sport. Growing up in Québec City, I watched each and every one of Roy’s games with the Canadiens and through solid and spectacular performances; he became not only my favorite More >

Guaranteed Hits?

Guest article by coryyokel22

One of the more discouraging problems in the card collecting hobby is the surfacing of what are referred to as “hot packs”. These packs usually come with a guarantee of an autograph or game used card to be inside. The main place where you can find them for sale is on eBay, usually in “Buy It Now” situations. The issue at hand about these packs is that you know some guy isn’t buying a hobby box and keeping the commons for himself while setting aside the hits the box contains. Guest article by 6boyds

The team was left on the shoulders of Kerry Collins. Wait, Kerry Collins? The Kerry Collins that was drafted in 1995, has played for five different teams, and has a career quarterback rating of 73.4? He’s leading a team to an undefeated season? Alright, he’s had to have had some help. We’ve got LenDale White, who fell in the second round due to character More >

A Big Break

By Karine Hains,  Editor-In-Chief

We all know that this hobby of ours can be rather demanding from a financial standpoint. However, most of us still cannot help it and we buy boxes after boxes of wax. Why? Well, we want to improve our collections and we are also chasing after the “big pull”. Some breaks go better than others and we are sometimes left disappointed by the results. How nice would it be to be able to get the cards you want from a box break? Better yet, from a case break!

Lately on Sportscardforum, this has become possible for team or More >

Through the Mail at its Best: Fan Packs

Guest article by sdfc87

I would always use to write a letter to my favourite rugby league team here in Australia requesting just a poster and a sticker. As I would take them to meet the team to get it signed. But I would always get a lot more than just a poster and a letter.

I write to every team in the nation just after the start of the season and about two weeks later they would all arrive in twos and More >
