I have been advocating for some time now the need for the NHL Players Association to tell Upper Deck and Panini that it is time to scale back the number of licensed products on the market. This is not simply the lament of a player collector that is overwhelmed by the constant influx of new cards—though that statement certainly applies—but rather the growing concern of a hobbyist that the market is on the road to collapsing underneath its own weight. There is simply too much of everything, and only the NHLPA can do something about it.

I’d like to give special thanks to those members who, over the course of 15 months, either traded these beloved pieces to me or sent the cards that helped me land them.
This was my first Ice RC /99. I remember watching people break boxes of 09-10 Ice last year and thinking to myself that what they pulled out was almost too colorful to be believed.
At the time, I didn’t know there were 4 different Tiers of RCs, but I enjoyed looking at every one. Honestly, stealing a glimpse of a base card was itself a treat. More >

If you are a Flyers fan you may not want to read this but if you do please don’t be mad, this is just my opinion. The Flyers have come close to the cup two years in a row now and made some serious moves this off season. Unfortunately for them, these moves and their current mindset will be there demise. The Flyers added two of the biggest names in this years free agent pool when they added Ilya Bryzgalov and the legendary Jaromir Jagr, but at what price? Any NHL fan would tell you More >

I am extremely excited for this upcoming season in hockey. I have been a Blues fan my entire life and have been waiting for this for a long time. Here is St. Louis we have a history of getting players after their prime, Lalime, Fuhr, Gretzky, and so on, but things have changed here in St. Louis. Not since the Blues run at the cup, almost 40 years ago now, have the Blues had such promise between the pipes as we now do in Jaroslav Halak. Halak set many Blues franchise records this past More >

A few months ago, the whole country breath a sight of relief when it was announced that the Atlanta Trashers were moving north of the border to Winnipeg. Canadians are serious about their hockey, they live it, breath it and you could almost say that the eat it. The more teams are in the great white north, the better it is for them. While Winnipeg struck gold however, Quebec city is still waiting and while it waits, hockey is still front page news. Whether it be the huge controversy about the new arena being built with More >

I’ve had the opportunity to see many games in my lifetime. I attended my first baseball game at the Astrodome (Dodgers versus Astros). My first pro football game was the 1977 Broncos versus the Bills the year the Broncos went to the Super Bowl (I got to see the Juice live – which was a thrill back then because I had my Juicemobiles!) and also saw many great football games live with the Broncos. But one of my greatest sports moments came, not from my favorite sport, but perhaps my fourth favorite; hockey.
