There are a handful of names that are synonymous with the sports card industry. One of those names belongs to Panini’s Tracy Hackler. Tracy is the Marketing Manager for Panini America. With an extensive background in writing and sports cards, he is a wealth of knowledge. While at the 2011 NHL Fan Fair in Raleigh, NC, I had the opportunity to meet the man behind the myth.

2010 Panini Century Collection is scheduled to release on 5 Jan, 2011 and will cost $150-200 per box/pack. There is one pack per box and five cards per pack.

Panini is planning to bring back to life yet another brand of hockey cards; Pinnacle. The “new” old product will be available to buy from the 16th March 2011 and will set you back around $80 for a hobby box containing 24 packs of 5 cards each. For hockey collectors, the Upper Deck monopoly era has not been filled with positive experiences only so when the NHLPA announced that a second card manufacturer would be granted the right to produced licensed NHL cards, many jumped for joy. Every once in awhile when I go to Dave and Adam’s Card World flagship store in Tonawanda, New York, there is usually some type of non-sport card set they have available at the front counter. I completely understand the reason for them doing this and if I were in charge of a store, I probably would do the same thing.
