A Grateful Soldier
Sep 25th
By SGT Joshua Helms aka Helms83
I’m embarrassed to admit that I have been a diehard Cubs fan of unwaivered support and have yet to visit Wrigley Field; even though I have lived a short two hours west of Chicago for the past 15 years. Finally, while home on R&R from Afghanistan, my fiancée surprised me with tickets to my first Cubs game there.
We had tickets for the September 16th Astros v. Cubs contest. Our seats were along the third base line, six rows from the bullpen holding area, just to the left of the Cubs dugout. It was a chilly, More >
A World Without Sports Cards
Sep 18th
By Stephen Duell aka Spuds1961
I knew I was going to write about something today, just didn’t know what. After looking at all my bags of cards and memorabilia in my computer room this is what I decided on.
I’ve been collecting on and off for about 40 years of the 50 years I’ve been alive,I just couldn’t imagine my life without these little pieces of cardboard.I remember the first cards I ever bought and they weren’t even sports related, back in the late 60s my father used to drop my mother off at the Staten Island ferry terminal to go to work.It was More >
Somebody Has to Open it
Sep 5th
By Stephen Duell aka Spuds1961
Today’s article has me thinking about the opening of high priced wax and the odds of making your money back. I’m a cheapskate so maybe once a year I’ll treat myself to a high end box,and trust me if I get skunked I feel suicidal for a week. I read box breaks on SCF and watch box breaks on youtube and it seems for every one box that is great there are 3 others that are sub par.
I realize the companies have to make their money and it isn’t cheap to get the star players to More >

Sep 2nd
By David Oby III aka CavFanatic21
There may not be too many people who can say they have met their favorite athlete sometime in their lifetime. Some can say they met a player, which then made them their favorite player. However, this was different for me. Many members may know, my favorite athlete is JJ Hickson, of the Sacramento Kings. Of course, he used to be on the Cleveland Cavaliers (But that’s an entirely different story). I have actually met him four times over the last year, and hope to meet him more. I can tell a simple story of how More >
Common Sense Trading
Sep 2nd
By Sean Ruml aka Srman77
As I begin to write this article, I felt it necessary to premise this with a word of wisdom for rookie and veteran traders alike. Those words are simply this…Treat the person, or person’s that you are trading with as if they were you on that other side of the trade and, not just another trader with a screen name. I say this in having to have dealt with a couple of minor issues that came a while back with a couple of traders. It was nothing so majorly horrible that I would have to report More >
Hockey – It’s in our DNA
Aug 31st
By Karine Hains aka Pheebs888
A few months ago, the whole country breath a sight of relief when it was announced that the Atlanta Trashers were moving north of the border to Winnipeg. Canadians are serious about their hockey, they live it, breath it and you could almost say that the eat it. The more teams are in the great white north, the better it is for them. While Winnipeg struck gold however, Quebec city is still waiting and while it waits, hockey is still front page news. Whether it be the huge controversy about the new arena being built with More >
