We’ve all been in this situation before; bored at home with an itch to bust open some packs. So we run over to the local card shop hoping to strike gold in the form of cardboard. We scan the packs available and pick a few here and there. Topps Red Hot Rookie Redmptions: Jay Bruce Autographed Rookie

Topps announces the player redeemable for the 2008 Topps Baseball Series 2 RED HOT ROOKIE Redemption # 1 is Jay Bruce, Outfielder, Cincinnati Reds. Bruce’s card will be autographed on-card!
Throughout the remainder of the 2008 Major League Baseball season, Topps will announce the subjects for the 20-card RED HOT ROOKIE program. Each Topps Series 2 Hobby Box includes (1) RED HOT ROOKIE Redemption, which can be redeemed online at www.topps.com/redemption.
The cards will be printed on Topps Chrome Refractor technology and shipped to collectors first week of November.
MLB Players Association Sues Steiner Sports

Steiner Sports Marketing has been served with a lawsuit by the MLB Players Association that claims the New York-based company is selling unlicensed products of current MLB players and infringing on the MLBPA’s trademarks.
Among the allegations in the lawsuit are trademark infringement, trademark counterfeiting, unfair competition and breach of contract. At issue are some autographed photos produced and sold by Steiner Sports over the past year.
Steiner Sports had a license with the MLBPA that allowed it to produce and sell a line of signed and unsigned photos of active MLB players that featured the MLB Players Choice trademark. That license More >

Recent Signings and Promotions Have Baseball Releases Performing Strong for Upper Deck
Whether you are a Red Sox fan or Yankee fan, Upper Deck has good news for collectors this week. Last year’s rookie sensation Daisuke Matsuzaka recently completed a signing for Upper Deck and customers who were waiting on his cards should be receiving them soon.
