Upper Deck Invites Collectors to Hit the ICE
Mar 20th
Innovative and technology-driven cards take collectors closer to the game with the release of 2007-08 Upper Deck ICE Hockey
Upper Deck has always taken considerable pride in being a trading card company that infuses innovation along with superior content to create products that collectors will love. Collectors are embracing the release of 2007-08 Upper Deck ICE Hockey because of Upper Deck’s ability to execute so well with these two core values in mind. The base set has a look where players seem to come alive on the ice because of an embossed design and background with actual marks on a surface More >
SP Game Used Box
Mar 20th
Description The 2007-2008 Hockey edition of the popular SP Game Used brand features a rather sober base set which is in my view, not an improvement over last years’ outing. On all the base cards, there is a picture of the player in action which takes up most of the space, the background of the rest of the card is mainly white apart from a spot of colour on the right of the card which is of the dominant colour of the team of the player pictured and two coloured triangles as displayed below. This does make for a somewhat classy look but it More >

When I first started collecting in the late 80s early 90s, the hobby was quite different. Back then, you could chose between Pro Set, Pro Set Platinium, O-Pee-Chee, O-Pee-Chee Premier, Upper Deck and Parkhurst. Today, the market is really dominated by Upper Deck and the only other alternative really is In the Game. There is a lot less choice when it comes to brands, but now there are a multitude of insert sets which were not around in the good old days. What is in store for collectors this year? Well let me do a quick run More >

On the heels of one of the most exciting NHL All-Star games in recent history, Upper Deck launched its 2007/2008 SP Game-Used Hockey release designed to keep collectors seeing stars with the inclusion of autographed “Number Marks” cards. The content has been increased to the point where now every third box will be filled with additional rookies or low-numbered items. The product, which released last week, has already been deemed a hit by More >
Collecting on the Other Side of the Atlantic

As a hockey fan, I truly enjoy not only playing and watching the sport but also collecting the cards. Since I moved to the United Kingdom in 2002, both the playing and watching have been quite difficult to accomplish, and I must admit that the collecting side of it is not easy either. Think of all the things you need as a collector, regular supply of boxes and packs to bust, top loaders, price guides, storage boxes, etc… Finding all this can prove a real challenge in Europe, although I should not speak for every other country More >
SPx 2007-2008 Pricing?
Feb 3rd
Guest article by: Pheebs888
So as per usual, I bought a New Release Price Guide on Becket.com because I like to know the value of what I am trading for. I purchased the SPx 2007-2008 Hockey NRP, and I thought it was a little bit shocking to say the least. I know that rookie cards are normally quite valuable especially if they include memorablia and/or autographs, but I think this time it is a bit over the top…
I love the Habs so of course this year I am eager to get my hands on anything Carey Price, and while I think More >
