On January 2, 2011, I was fortunate enough to purchase a 2009-10 tin of The Cup Hockey. I still do not know what made me thinking about or even why I decided to purchase this tin, but I am thankful that I listened to that voice. The 2nd to last card of the tin was a Matt Duchene Gold Auto Rookie Patch parallel numbered to 9!
This card is arguably the most coveted, if not one of the rarest rookie parallel cards one can find in this product. There is simply no better feeling to find a More >

Redemption. The mere mention of the word often suffice to send shivers down collector’s spine. Why you ask? Well, simply because pulling a redemption is by no mean a guarantee that you will get the card described on it. In life it’s impossible to please everyone and the same applies to the hobby. Whatever it is that the card manufacturers do, there will always be people who will be happy and people who will criticize not one product or idea will please everyone. This is an undeniable fact and no one will ever be able to change that but if the card companies wanted to please me, or if I worked for say Upper Deck, here’s what I would do…
Currently the market is saturated with numerous releases which are more or less rather similar. SPX, More >

The beginning of the 2010-11 card season seems to have brought about a shift in thinking about parallels. It began with Upper Deck Victory and the inclusion of the rack pack exclusive Red parallels. Not since the 05-06 numbered to 5 Black parallels has there been so much interest in Victory; people were breaking the packs in bunches in the hopes of landing a superstar or top rookie, or even to do the entire parallel set. It has continued with Panini Certified. Even though some player checklists are of epic proportions there are still large numbers More >
