The disappointing news about Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey (due out mid-November) was just given to me. The Young Guns Rookie Cards will only contain players who played at the end of last season and weren't included in last year's series 2. Unlike 2009-10 when Tavares, Duchene, Bozak and such were photographed at the rookie photo shoot and put on cards Upper Deck says that won't be done this year. What does this mean ? Box Breakers,

We will be continuing our box break program this week with our break on Saturday of The Cup Next week we'll do Prime and possibly an Ultimate depending on time and interest. We'll also be doing box breaks for the new Panini Dominion at the end of the month. These breaks will all be the same with 10 spots and 3 teams per spot with a snake style draft. Spots will go quick for some products because of the shear limited product quantity and our reasonable spot prices. ...

Well 2011-12 Upper Deck The Cup is out and already the complaint emails are rolling in. It is very difficult for me to help anyone with this product as we are restricted by our Upper Deck Authorized Distributors. There are only two authorized distributors in Canada, one (in Quebec) is in bed with the guys southwest of us who get most of The Cup and the other (in the GTA) could only give us two tins. Another so-called distributor who isn't authorized by Upper Deck quoted us $419 a tin plus taxes ...

Well thanks all for the comments on my 'Buyer Beware' blog post. I won't respond to each and every comment individually as I think it is obvious by what was said who the buyers and sellers are.

Just to follow up on the original reason for the blog post this message was just received from the seller. The same seller who said not to contact him anymore and then continued to email me.

I had an interesting conversation with a seller on the Bay a couple of weeks ago and I have to be honest and say that I finally snapped. Here I am thinking I'm helping a seller out because he is trying to sell a card that isn't what he is claiming it is so I send him a message. Well the reply I get is an absolute jioke and treats me like I've committed some crime. I am so sick and tired of hearing that the "Buyer Should Beware" that I could have driven down to this sellers shop and done ...
