  1. A career wasted by stupidity----baseball version

It's safe to say that 2015 was a lost season for Jenrry Mejia. Now, his career is lost, and, unless you buy into his denials, it's his own fault.

Mejia was forced to sit on the sidelines for most of 2015, and watched as his Mets teammates upset the applecart, won the NL East, eliminated Los Angeles and Chicago, and advanced to the World Series, where they fell in 5 games to Kansas City. Mejia was injured on Opening Day, opening the door for Jeurys Familia to have a breakout season ...

  2. The NFL returns to Los Angeles. Prepare to be underwhelmed

For the second time, St. Louis is without an NFL franchise. The citizens have more than enough right to be upset, especially with someone they thought was one of their own.

Rams owner Stan Kroenke, who had to turn over control of his other franchises, the NBA's Denver Nuggets and the NHL's Colorado Avalanche, to his son when he bought the Rams six years ago, won the bid to move his club back to Los Angeles after an absence of 21 seasons. 3. A meeting of kindred spirits

On January 3, WWE CEO/Chairman Vince McMahon, who plays the part of a prematurely senile, deranged executive on TV, was breaking bread with another unpopular senior citizen, Dallas Cowboys owner/president/GM Jerry Jones, at AT&T-Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, site of WrestleMania 32, three months from now. McMahon, along with daughter Stephanie and son-in-law Paul Levesque (aka Triple H), was in town to promote the "Show of Shows", and watched the Dallas-Washington game in Jones' box. ...

  4. If the Eagles made the playoffs, they keep Chip Kelly. Maybe.

On December 26, the Philadelphia Eagles were eliminated from playoff contention with a loss to Washington. Less than 72 hours later, owner Jeff Lurie dismissed head coach "Paint" Chip Kelly, even though the Eagles still have 1 game left, an opportunity to once again sweep the Giants.

Of course, the rumor mills are working overtime, claiming Kelly has his next job already lined up in Tennessee with the Titans, which means a reunion with Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota, ...

  5. From Hero to Zero in six days

A week ago, on Monday Night Football, the hype leading to the Giants-Dolphins game was the first pro meeting of former LSU teammates Jarvis Landry (Miami) & Odell Beckham, Jr. (Giants). Both shined in the primetime spotlight, of course, but it was Beckham, as usual, making highlight reel catches and scoring long TD's to give the Giants a win.

Six days later, however, the darker side of Beckham emerged at the worst possible time.

The tabloid media in New York hyped ...
