  1. NESN decides Don Orsillo won't be back in the Red Sox booth in 2016--bad idea

More than 40 years ago, when cable television was installed in my home, I became acquainted with Red Sox games on WSBK. At the time, venerable, versatile Dick Stockton was at the mic with Ken "Hawk" Harrelson. "Hawk" wasn't the over-the-top homer he is now for the White Sox, but before you knew it, both were gone. Stockton, of course, splits his time between Fox, the Oakland A's (at last check), and I believe TBS. Ned Martin took over sometime in the 80's, replaced in turn by ...

  2. Don't cry for the Jets-----yet

I found it amusing that an online commentator suggested that the Jets would try to sign Rex Grossman to back up Ryan Fitzpatrick, rather than give rookie Bryce Petty (out of Baylor), a shot, with Geno Smith gone until October due to a broken jaw.

What is it with some of these alleged geniuses throwing shade on the Jets before the first pre-season game??

Grossman hasn't played in, what, nearly 4 years? He was schizophrenic, based on the comments from sportswriters who ...

  3. Crybaby goes down! Suspension upheld!

News has come across the wires that the NFL has upheld the 4-game suspension handed to Patriots QB Tom "Crybaby" Brady. If the NFLPA does decide to take this case to court, it's a waste of time, just to appease a bratty prima donna who's proven that you don't need to be a wide receiver to be a diva in the NFL.

Now, they're saying that Brady had destroyed his cell phone, rather than give it up during the investigation into Deflate-Gate. That all by itself was the nail in ...

  4. Crybaby Brady gets a 4 game suspension. Chump change!

I don't think it shocks anyone that the NFL came down on the New England Patriots in the wake of "Deflate-gate". Problem is, they didn't come down hard enough.

The decision to suspend quarterback Tom Brady 4 games without pay, mostly for refusing the cooperate fully with the investigation, is mere chump change. As long as commissioner Roger Goodell is in the pocket of Pats owner Robert Kraft, he'll never throw the whole book at the Pats. A million dollar fine and the loss ...

  5. Why all the fuss over Kris Bryant?

The Chicago Cubs, as expected, sent top prospect Kris Bryant to minor league camp, and his next stop is likely Iowa for about 2 weeks, or so they say.

The Players Association, and Bryant's greedy agent, Scott "20 Mule Team" Boras, are crying foul. All they see is that Bryant led all players in HRs in spring training games in Arizona with 9, but, as others point out, he's committed 4 errors at 3rd base, and they want to test him in the outfield. Bryant hasn't said anything ...
