Brick & Mortar Follow-up

Rate this Entry
Well I have a few minutes of down time so I thought I would share the soap opera that is Upper Deck's Brick and Mortar program.

In addition to the ongoing debate about how someone got product who shouldn't have had it comes this gem. A Smoker's Corner was deemed a Diamond Dealer and just saying that makes me laugh. Someone whose prime business is selling cancer causing smokes was given a Diamond Dealer status. How can that happen ?

Just to paint this picture for you....it is approx. 300 sq. ft of junk piled eveywhere almost like a dollar store with an 18" aisle to walk through. There are no display cases with singles or displays of any card kind to be found. He sells maybe 8 different current box titles and that is it and has some Ultra Pro stuff piled up on a shelf and on the floor. How does this qualify you as a Diamond Dealer ?

The exact story I got was to be a Diamond Dealer I needed display cases full of singles, an Ultra Pro supply section, sealed boxes and packs for sale and that cards were my prime business. I also needed extra signage on the outside of my store. Pictures of my store had to be sent to Upper Deck to get their approval. I had most of this set up anyway but to be a Diamond Dealer I spent about $40,000 on upgrading everything. Now I'm thinking it was a huge waste of my time and money.

I guess the big question here is who circumvented the process to get this smoke shop in as a Diamond Dealer ?

The saga continues......
