Well where to start....so many things have happened in the past couple of weeks. Product updates, new stuff in the store, box breaks, youtube and twitter now, Cam Neely and well so much.....
Lets start off with the Panini Contenders disappointment. Product release has been backed up to April How about Crown Royale costing more this year but having less serial-numbered cards in it then last year I could but I won't.
We recently picked up a NASCAR die-cast collection from the coast and a McFarlane Hockey collection with 78 figures in it. Some nice pieces including Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. We also picked up a very nice Vancouver Canucks signed jersey with over thirty autos including Luongo, Kesler, Bieksa, both the Sedins and Luc Bourdon. Also signed jerseys from Chris Bosh (Raptors), Tomas Kaberle (Leafs), Martin Brodeur (Devils retro), Joe Thornton (SJS), Brent Burns (SJS), Wendel Clark (Leafs), Doug Gilmour (Leafs), Tie Domi (Leafs) and a 2009-10 Toronto Marlies team signed with James Reimer. From the Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni versus the Whitby Dunlops Alumni game (that I officiated in and got to dress in the room with the Leafs) a beauty white Leafs jersey signed by ten including Gary Roberts.
Picked up some decent cards over the past couple of weeks as well including a Panini Limited Brothers In Arms James Reimer and Jonas Gustavsson dual patch numbered one of ten. A Ryan Kesler jumbo patch with all three colours, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Joe Colborne signed Phenoms cards, another Tyler Seguin Silhouettes Rookie Patch Auto, Mark Messier RC, Mario Lemieux RC, Jari Kurri RC, Ray Bourque second year, Crosby Penmanship auto, 90-91 Score Promos of Gretzky, Roy and Bourque. Some older cards in really good shape plus a lot of nine O-Pee-Chee baseball cards including two Eddie Murray RC's.
Our show a week ago featured a gentleman who was doing Panini Limited box breaks. This is where we got the above mentioned Limited pulls. Thanks to all who came out and said hello and supported Feed The Need Durham with food donations. Our next show is April 1st and then May 13th. Hopefully anyone reading our blog who is in the area can pop in and say hi and don't forget to let us know that you read our blog. This makes it all worthwhile to spend time typing it out knowing that someone out there values our thoughts and opinions.
We were already on Facebook (Frozen Heroes Sportscards & Memorabilia) and now we are also on twitter and youtube. Our youtube channel has the Limited Box Break video posted with more to come. Feel free to 'tweet' us at id: FrozenHeroes77 or take a look at our youtube channel with user id: frozenheroescards.
Got the opportunity to get a couple of pieces signed for our customers by Cam Neely who was at AJ's. A nice vintage Boston Gardens seat (seat #8 even) for one customer and a Bruins jersey for another die hard Boston and Cam Neely fan. Enjoyed doing it and the smiles on their faces made it all worthwhile
Well I think I've blabbed enough to you for today so I'll say so long and happy collecting until we talk again
