I started a Lee Fogolin collection by accident; that is my story and I am sticking to it. Disillusioned by the card boom of the early 1990s and outraged by the cost of newer product I decided to focus my attention on the card sets of my childhood.
Goal 1 - Complete the O-Pee-Chee sets of the 1980s.
A daunting task but I had a good start on most sets from my collecting as a child. The base sets are now complete, so are the box bottoms, supersized, and minis. I have also have wax pack wrappers from almost every set (just missing a couple). But what does this have to do with Lee Fogolin you ask...
Goal 2 - Get at least 1 card from every set in the 1970s and 1980s.
After completing my 1980s O-Pee-Chee sets I needed a new goal; so set off to get 1 card from every set in the 70s & 80s. Doing that I tried to Focus my attention on my favourite team the Edmonton Oilers. Unfortunately the Oilers did not exist in parts of the 70s; so when choosing cards from those sets I focused in on players who became Oilers so in doing that acquired a lot of Lee Fogolin cards. SCF has 45 Lee Fogolin cards (made in the 70s & 80s) listed in their OPG. So far I have collected 23 of those (51%).
And that is how I started my Lee Fogolin collection. Below is images of some of those cards:
1974-75 NHL Action Stamps #42 Lee Fogolin
1976-77 Topps #253 Lee Fogolin
1979-80 O-Pee-Chee #183 Lee Fogolin
1982-83 O-Pee-Chee #104 Lee Fogolin
1982-83 Post Cereal Lee Fogolin
1983-84 Oilers McDonald's #12 Lee Fogolin
1985-86 Oilers Red Rooster #2 Lee Fogolin
1986-87 O-Pee-Chee #210 Lee Fogolin
1986-87 O-Pee-Chee Stickers #71 Lee Fogolin
1988-89 Oilers Tenth Anniversary #42 Lee Fogolin
Goal 3 - Get a Lee Fogolin Autograph and Rookie Card.
Anyone got a 2004-05 ITG Franchises Canadian Autographs #ALF Lee Fogolin or 1975-76 O-Pee-Chee NHL #306 Lee Fogolin for trade?
