Website Rip Offs and Postage

Rate this Entry
Website Rip Offs has been a big pain in the butt for many sellers Buyers who claim they didn't get their item and file a claim to get there money back Most sites will give these so-called buyers their money back if you can't provide a tracking number I don't know how many times I've lost money to this circumstance but it isn't something that you usually forget. Not all of these instances are scams but it is hard to believe when you look at it that certain delivery areas have more claims then others and ever notice that it usually isn't a cheap $2.00 card that you get screwed for

The first thing to look at is postage and protecting your sale with tracking or insurance. Unfortunately while US sellers are moaning about shipping costs with delivery confirmation to Canada of $7-$8, up here in Canada that cost is actually approx. $14 to a Canadian address and $16-$20 for items shipped to the States. This shipping cost nightmare has caused several sellers to change their thoughts on shipping to certain destinations. One website has US sellers quoting $99.99 to ship a single card to Canada because they don't want to sell to Canada Why not just quote the $8 rather then posting an obnoxious shipping rate ? This also applies to certain sellers on feebay who quote $15 to ship a single card to Canada.

As a rule when we see a seller quoting ridiculous shipping rates to Canada where we are we go and manually block them from buying from us. Money is money but we have principles and if you want to be stupid about shipping to Canada we aren't going to let you buy from us. There are several sellers on Sportlots that we used to buy from that we no longer can afford to because of the incredibly increased shipping rates. We were recently screwed by umjakulp (in Manitoba) on Sportlots for $25 because he filed a claim saying he didn't get his 100 card order This forced us to re-evaluate our shipping charges and force all buyers (Canadian & US) who purchase cards from us that weigh over 500 grams in total (roughly over 65 cards) to pay for insured shipping. This is disappointing as we pride ourselves on having the best shipping rates around and the lowest card prices but to get beat at least once a week by some crook and having our charities screwed has finally taken its toll and I've had enough of it. Our honest customers are now going to be paying for the scammers which isn't fair but necessary so that we don't keep losing money. We apologize for this and will continue to make sure that our good customers continue to get extra free stuff.

At this point we are investigating on possibly starting a website where we can post scammers info such as the site used, scammer id and possibly even addresses. Please post comments and let us know what you think.
