Karine's Thoughts

2 Years Later...

I realized today that according to my profile; I joined SCF on the 20th March 2007. So, 2 years down the line what have I achieve? Well, I have received 282 feedbacks so far granted it's far from the immortal status but I still find that quite an impressive number considering that not everyone wants to make international trades. Still on the achievements front, I found myself a new passion when I started to write about the hobby, I thoroughly enjoy doing that and it's very nice and relaxing. However, the biggest achievement has got to be how much I improved my PC.

I feel like going down memory lane tonight so let's go for my 10 favorite moments on SCF in the last two years...

10) The excavation dig - Not everyone will get this one but if you were around for a certain break of Artifacts, you know exactly what I'm talking about. There is nothing like a crazy break thread and plenty of chatting in between each packs...

9) The Playoffs last year - During the playoffs last year I made quite a few Game Day Threads in the chat and it was so much fun to get all those replies. Once again brilliant interaction

8) Being asked to be the Editor in Chief of the article site. I started writing quite recently and I must say I was rather flaterred to be asked to take over the lead on the articles side of things. It made me realize how much my english has improved since I moved over here and it is a pleasure to work with the members to get content for the mag month after month

7) Guess the Hits sessions - In September, I was stuck at home with a knee injury and to cheer myself up I bought quite a few boxes. I was busting them way too fast though so to make them last, I started doing guess the hits box breaks. Since then, most of my breaks are done like this and I really enjoy sharing the CC with the members...

6) The Artifacts Group break which kept me up until 6 AM. Now that was a fun break! Of course I would say that considering I got a Roy 33/100 but it was just a great time

5) My Bleu, Blanc et Rouge break in the chat room. I had waited for that book for what had seemed like ages and to be rewarded with a Roy SP auto was just magical

4) The first time I bought a high end box and watching the break on youtube. Yup, I got a Superlative book last year and Tony broke it on video for me. Quite the gamble as these are expensive but hey, I got a Roy Holy Grail 6/9 so there were no complaints here

3) My guess the hit christmas edition contest - Maybe it was just because of the anticipation but it was awesome to have a build up to one of my biggest breaks ever. Thanks to everyone who entered, you all made it easier for me to wait until xmas to open my box. I must say, I really enjoy running contest and I love the fact that so many people are willing to take part in them.

2) The awesome presents I've received from my friends here on SCF. Let's just say that I have been rather spoiled present wise lately...If you've seen the threads, you know what I mean lol

1) Cleveland here I come! It's now official, I will be in Cleveland for the National Sports Collector Convention. I am completly psyched about that and I cannot wait to experience my first card show. Not only to buy but also to review and blog about it as well as meeting some people I have come to consider as very dear friends of mine...

Well that's it...Nostalgia moment over. Thanks to everyone for the amazing 2 years I've had on here and needless to say, I hope for many many more

Ahh the excavation dig... Despite being on staff I was completely out of the loop on that one and had no idea what everybody was going through! :P

Also loved Richards comment... "I don't know what's happening"... Genuine confusion lol
