Over a month ago I stopped playing World Of Warcraft and sold my account. With some of the funds I pre-ordered 2 Topps Jumbo/Home Team Advantage Boxes of Series 2 baseball. Well those boxes finally arrived yesterday from Dave and Adam's and I've made another video to showcase the highlights of my boxes.
I'd also like to take the time to write about the inserts and parallels in series 2. Most are a continuation of the ones found in series 1. Found one per HTA pack and making their return are:
Turkey Reds continues with cards numbered TR51-TR100. This set features a good mix of current and retired names to keep Turkey Red alive. Also its hard to miss that these have a bit more gloss to them compared to the first 50 cards.
Legends of the Game continues with 25 more cards. These are numbered LG- Player Initials. (Series 1 were numbered LG1-LG25) This set has current stars as well as retired greats.
Ring of Honor continues with 25 more numbered RH51 to RH75. By themselves the cards don't get a second look but that's okay. Get the set together and you've got a decent collection of players and managers featuring their play in the World Series.
Ticket to Topps Town cards received face lift featuring blue cards instead of silver. Gold parallels are also continued and feature a different image from their blue counterparts. 25 more numbered TTT26-TTT50
Gold base set parallels feature a gold foil border and are serial numbered xxxx/2009. Also to be found are black parallels xx/58 one per HTA box. And ever so rare platinum parallels 1/1 seeded 1:2500 HTA Packs.
Career Best Legends cards are a new insert featuring 15 of the best to ever play the game. In my video I say they're aren't numbered but in the top center on the back they're numbered LGCB-Player Initials. Not serial numbered.
World Baseball Classic inserts are a new but plain looking 25 card set. Players from the various teams that participated in the 09 WBC are shown here.
Red Hot Rookie Redemption are found one per box, hobby or HTA. Cards with a number 1 through 10 with a code on the back can be redeemed. Details on who we will see on these cards is unknown at this time.
Short print base card variations make their return this time featuring some recently retired legends. I found 1 out of the 17 card set. I've got the checklist for you guys here.
Short Print Variations:
340 Wade Boggs
350 Ryne Sandberg
353 Cal Ripken Jr.
355 Jim Palmer
400 Frank Robinson

I'm going to take a break. I plan to add some more to this look at series 2. If you have any questions about seeding odds for HTA packs let me know. Any other comments /questions are more than welcomed also. For now please enjoy my video, but also beware it's not the greatest thing I've ever made.
