Overpriced cards on ebay

Rate this Entry
I been buying cards on ebay for years now. I see cards that are selling for a certian price and then I see the same card for buy it now for double or triple the price of the last one that sold, numbering is all the same. I dont know why people expect to get these prices for their cards, when they will never get these prices for them. Maybe they think that someone who knows nothing about cards will buy it not knowing better. I thought maybe they just want to showcase their card as a way to get people to check out their auctions, but some of the cards they have at a buy it know are somewhat cheap cards they sell for 20.00 but they want 60.00. Can someone answer why some sellers do this, is it some sort of selling gimmick or do they truly expect to get these prices?
