hi there! got the crosby yg through cash and trade. obviously i like the card very much!

sorry to hear about the writeup. yeah SCF was going haywire around that time. would like to hear your thoughts on SGC. The grading scores and cases look interesting. i like your duchene fw! gonna send some cards to denj91 soon for more bgs grading. hopefully i can obtain some more 'gold'.

oh and yeah bgs did fix the chipping on the seguin which i was glad bgs did for free. otherwise it was 2 months between getting it graded, fixed and finally back in hand.

Yeah I still plan on writing up it, the issues I encountered are very big ones, the type that I would like to warn other users of before they also waste their money. SGC is a very very terrible company to go with if you want to preserve your cards for any significant amount of time. The grades are "nice" I guess, but after seeing their workmanship, these grades mean nothing to me, both good and bad. I have a very hard time taking it seriously after seeing the lack of skill and effort put into my submission.

In short, I'm absolutely steering clear of SGC in the future and it's BGS all the way for me, I'd advise the same for anyone else regardless of the type/era of the card.

sorry to hear about that. and you submitted so many cards too. you planning on cross grading back to BGS?
Actually I should get DenJ91 to post his latest BGS cards. He has some nice ones I think he should show off here.

Yeah I'll be sending most of these to BGS for a crossover, most likely the SGC 98s. There's 9 of my 30 cards that are better off than the others, I haven't decided what to do with those, and I'm not even sure which 9 that is. If something can be sold, I will most likely do so to get the ball rolling on doing a crossover to BGS. I also have a separate 27-card/10-day order just sitting here waiting for me to send out to Beckett that I'm eager to get going too. To be honest, this SGC ordeal really took the wind out of my sails and I've barely touched any card forum or card stuff in general, except checking eBay for newly added Helenius stuff.

Thanks to you though, we've all learned that SGC sucks. I can't believe how bad they really are, not even labelling the card correctly. But it sucks you had to sacrifice your time and money to find that out for us. I'm surprised i don't hear more about SGC's problems and defects on this forum.

I was surprised too at the members, their posts and their faithfulness to SGC. In my only thread on SGC - which I used to ask pre-order questions as well as follow up with my concerns on their quality - someone in the ~8400 post range posted that "most of" their cards do not rattle. I really wish I had seen that in a thread before sending things off.

    'most of'. geez louise.
hey did you see these threads? I might try the Canadian version. Wondering if it would be cheaper for you on the US side if you tried going thru the SCF bulk submission.

I've considered it yeah, at the moment I don't think I am able to participate as I believe I have had a neutral feedback in the last 6 months. Also, the person submitting on behalf of SCF is unable to accept paypal, so that makes the overall process much less appealing to me. The other quandry is that I'm rather impulsive, I don't think I really have the patience to 1) decide to be part of the group 2) wait for the rest of the group. I'd rather just decide what I want done, and do it the second I want to do it, I've already graduated to doing 10-day BGS submissions cause the wait for the 20-day turnaround kills me lol.

hmm the US side seems different where they can't accept paypal? that kinda sucks.
I'm going to try the Canadian side with one card for now. See what happens with the SCF experience. Already know what it's like sending to denj91 but I want to try this to see if it's a viable and cheap alternative, considering I'm in Canada and BGS and customs don't mix well. Anyways, can always change my mind before the submission deadline at the end of March if I decide to back out.

alright we have 5 members now! but i don't see the others posting their graded cards, although i guess they could just be a fan of them. it'd be cool if we got pm messages whenever someone posts new pictures, otherwise i forget sometimes about this group.

Those are some nice new additions, who let the basketball in here? :P Nice stuff though, still sitting on that BGS order I mentioned a while back, it's sitting here. Just been waiting for the desire to match the financial requirement lol. Mostly 11-12 YGs and Canvas YGs. Few Magic cards too for something different :)

And yeah as mentioned I see we actually have more than our 3 originals members, growing strong! XD How about some of the new folks post up some graded goodies? :) Trying to keep it to gold labels (BGS 9.5+) or equivalent!
