Hey everyone! I have been collecting for about a year now and just recently narrowed down my card collecting to just Playoff Contender Rookie Autos, and older rookie cards. Otherwise it would be way too expensive. The majority of my collection is 1999-2003
Welcome grandam2006
I need to finish my 2010 set. I need your 2010 unscratched Playoff Contenders Redemption Cards! I pay fast and will give you a fair deal. PM me if interested.
grandam2006 - I have every single Colt Rookie Ticket except for James Mungro super short print of 99 but I do have the Mungro Championship Ticket non-auto sp of 99 to make me feel a little better. If you have that card. Please post!! I have the 2000 Marvin Harrison Playoff Ticket auto and the Dallas Clark Preview Ticket #'d 25/25. We don't need to talk about the Colts right now but I hope to see Manning back, even if they draft Luck. They could do it and be under the salary cap but not an ideal situation when that defense needs fixing.
I think it would be great for the colts to draft luck and have manning come back for a few years and have him mentor luck until he retires. The only 2010 Contender Autos I have are James Starks and Eric Decker. My colts contenders RC/AU only consist of Edgerrin James and Reggie Wayne. I am in college still so it is very hard to go after the high end cards that I would like.
Found this browsing eBay today: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-Contend...item43aba0d7f0
I just picked up a 2003 Carson Palmer Rookie Ticket black ink!!! the card is /194 but only 36 were signed in black ink
Hey Jordan, would you be willing to trade your Clarett Preview Ticket for a 2009 Brandstater auto?
Nope, sorry WD. I'll find the Brandstater cheap eventually.
I figured as much. Worth a shot anyway. Do you happen to have any doubles of the Broncos non autographed playoff tickets (or championship before 2003)?
Nope, no doubles. Sorry.
White Dragon - Hillis busted out this season but now he has become a locker room problem in a contract year or has he? Who knows but his production is way down this season. I love that card but it is pretty pricey for me.
Impossible to find Playoff Contenders: 10 Kareem Jackson RT 10 Trent Edwards RT 10 Dezmon Briscoe RT 09 Shawn Nelson RT 09 Mike Goodson RT
@MCF, yea, he's become a real problem for the Browns. I was just showing you that the Championship Ticket popped up on eBay. It's DEFINITELY not worth it. The DJ Williams Championship Ticket is also up on eBay for $400.00, which is too rich for my blood.
Just added a picture of my Cutler preview ticket for next weeks spotlight. It's serial numbered 01/50.
White Dragon - That is a really nice PT.
Sorry everybody. I will be around during the holidays but I probably will not be checking in too often. Happy Holidays to everybody. I leave you with a question for the group. Our group is public. I assume if you joined that you will be collecting 2011 Playoff Contenders. In an effort to make our group more productive in our set gathering at a lower cost, should we close the group to private until the short print lists are published and until all the top gold/championships are pulled? I vote yes. My reason is that we love POC's and we are each going to buy a box or if not, we are going to be serious buyers on the secondary market. We should be able to collaborate in a private setting with like minded collectors without outside eyes or interference. Hopefully private group messages don't pop up on Google at the top of the list.
SPOTLIGHT PLAYOFF CONTENDERS CARD OF THE WEEK -December 18 , 2011 2010 Playoff Contenders Rob Gronkowski Base Auto Rookie Card 229 I am happy to get back to posting the Playoff Contenders card of the week. Please join the Playoff Contenders group while enrollment is open. When the 2011 cards are released this group will most likely be closed. Rob Gronkowski is this week's nominee for Playoff Contenders Card of the Week. He deserves it for a season's worth of work and we still have two games to go! The Patriots fans will be very welcome here in Indianapolis as will any team's fans but that thought hurts. Ouch. This player will be a crucial piece to a playoff victory. There are two variations of Rob Gronkowsi's auto base rookie card and the print run was 499 for each. These have gone up quite a bit due to the player's popularity. My recommendation is to try to get it at auction or simply wait for it to settle down.
Found a 2000 Tom Brady Championship Ticket w/o a serial number: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOM-BRADY-20...-/350514710064
2011 PLAYOFF CONTENDERS FOOTBALL SET KICKOFF NEWS BLAST I hope everybody in the group had a great holiday season and I want to wish all of you Happy New Year. Panini announced February 1, 2012 will be the release date for 2011 Playoff Contenders Football which prompted me to add the first "opinion" group post of 2012. I want to reflect on collecting Playoff Contenders rookie cards. If you are new to Playoff Contenders collecting, Playoff Contender base rookies are rookie tickets and among the hottest collectible football cards on the market. Starting last year, there were 135 distinct rookies. 35 rookies included in the set had parallel numbered variations. Since the number of variations for each rookie were evenly produced, all 70 (35 X 2) rookie variations were considered rookies. This was a first of its kind for Playoff Contenders base sets boosting a complete set total to a whopping 170 rookie cards. In prior years, Playoff Contenders typically produces cards for roughly the same number of distinct rookie players. Rookie Tickets are normally autographed with a sticker auto or more desirable on card auto. Panini upped the anti for collectors by providing more on card autos in 2010 than the previous trend which was more and more stickers or the dreaded silver stamp where there should be an auto that stated "NO AUTOGRAPH". At a $5.99 per pack price point, odds are good at 1 in 6 packs on a Rookie Ticket but this puts demands on manufacturers to maintain the market expected price point. Still, Panini managed in 2010 to produce autographs, on card and sticker for all 2010 Rookie Tickets. Following is a list of players I hope to see included. In keeping with recent tradition you can project the relative card number position by first name in alphabetic order ascending. I have to give credit to the bleachereport.com for some of my research but here is my projection of what we might all be chasing starting February 1st. Note - just add 100 to the number on the left to get the projected card number. For every 6 packs you buy you should receive one (1) rookie ticket, various inserts, possibly cool inserts (Ultra modern Rookie Ink on card auto or Preview) and a chance at a super rare Championship Ticket but mostly the veterans. Veterans are numbered 1-100 and expect a set to sell for $10 to about $20. # POS PLAYER TEAM ROUND 1 DL Adrian Clayborn Tampa Bay 1 2 WR AJ Green Cincinnati 1 3 OLB Akeem Ayers Tennessee 2 4 DL Aldon Smith San Francisco 1 5 RB Alex Green Green Bay 3 6 QB Andy Dalton Cincinnati 2 7 OL Anthony Castonzo Indianapolis 1 8 WR Austin Pettis St Louis 3 9 RB Bilal Powell NY Jets 4 10 QB Blaine Gabbert Jacksonville 1 11 PT Brett Hartmann Houston FA 12 OLB Brooks Reed Houston 2a 13 OL Byron Bell Carolina FA 14 QB Cam Newton Carolina 1 15 LB Casey Mattews Philadelphia 4 16 WR Cecil Shorts III Jacksonville 4 17 FB Charles Clay Miami 6 18 DC Chris Culliver San Francisco 3 19 QB Christian Ponder Minnesota 1 20 QB Colin Kaepernick San Francisco 2 21 DC Chris Harris Denver FA 22 TE Colin Cochart Cincinnati FA 23 LB Colin McCarthy Tennessee 4 24 K Dan Bailey Dallas FA 25 RB Daniel Thomas Miami 2 26 RB DeMarco Murray Dallas 3 27 OT Da' Quan Bowers Buffalo 2 28 WR Denarius Moore Oakland 5 29 RB Delone Carter Indianapolis 4 30 TE DJ Williams Green Bay 5 31 DE Dontay Moch Cincinnati 2 32 WR Doug Baldwin Seattle FA 33 WR Edmund Gates Miami 4 34 RB Evan Royster Washington 6 35 WR Greg Little Cleveland 2 36 QB Greg McElroy NY Jets 7 37 DL Jabaal Sheard Cleveland 2A 38 MLB Jacquian Williams NY Giants 6C 39 RB Jaime Harper Tennessee 4 40 QB Jake Locker Tennessee 1 41 OL Jason Kelce Philadelphia 6 42 OL Jason Pinkston Cleveland 5b 43 WR Jerel Jennigan NY Giants 3 44 DL JJ Watt Houston 1 45 FS Joe Lefeged Indianapolis FA 46 WR Jon Baldwin Kansas City 1 47 TE Jordan Cameron Cleveland 4 48 RB Jordan Todman San Diego 6 49 WR Julio Jones Atlanta 1 50 DL Jurrell Casey Tennessee 3 51 DT Karl Klug Tennessee 5 52 RS Kealoha Pilares Carolina 5 53 RB Kendall Hunter San Francisco 4 54 TE Kyle Rudolph Minnesota 2 55 TE Lance Kendricks St. Louis 2 56 WR Luke Stocker Tampa Bay 4 57 DL Marcell Dareus Buffalo 1 58 RB Mark Ingram New Orleans 1 59 MLB Martez Wilson New Orleans 3 60 MLB Mason Foster Tampa Bay 3 61 RB Mike Leshoure Detroit 2 62 OL Mike Pouncey Miami 1 63 DL Muhammad Wilkerson NY Jets 1 64 OL Nate Solder New England 1 65 DT Nick Fairley Detroit 1 66 WR Niles Paul Washington 5 67 OL Orlando Franklin Denver 2b 68 DC Patrick Peterson Arizona 1 69 DL Phil Taylor Cleveland 1 70 CB Prince Amukamara NY Giants 1 71 SS Quinton Carter Denver 4a 72 RS Randall Cobb Green Bay 2 73 DC Richard Sherman Seattle 5a 74 QB Ricky Stanzi Kansas City 4 75 RB Roy Helu Washington 4 76 OLB Ryan Kerrigan Washington 1 77 QB Ryan Mallett New England 1 78 WR Ryan Whalen Cincinnati 6 79 RB Ryan Williams Arizona 2 80 OLB Sam Acho Arizona 4 81 OL Stefen Wisniewski Oakland 2 82 RB Shane Vereen New England 2 83 RB Steven Ridley New England 3 84 RB Taiwan Jones Oakland 4 85 WR Titus Young Detroit 2 86 QB TJ Yates Houston 5 87 WR Torrey Smith Baltimore 2 88 QB Tyrod Taylor Baltimore 6 89 OL Tyron Smith Dallas 1 90 WR Vincent Brown San Diego 3 91 DL Von Miller Denver 1 92 TE Weslye Saunders Pittsburgh FA
