With the 1st pick of the 2009 NBA Draft the Los Angeles Clippers Select:
Blake Griffin
Position: PF
Height: 6-10
Weight: 248 pounds
Age: 20
School: Oklahoma
Reason - The Clippers have made it known that Griffin will be their number one pick. He dominated in NCAA. He's a can't miss prospect for the Clippers. Now the Clippers need to find a way to trade Chris Kaman or Zach Randolph.
The Memphis Grizzlies are now on the clock...

With the 2nd pick of the 2009 NBA Draft the Memphis Grizzles Select:
Hasheem Thabeet, Junoir out of The University Of Conneticut
Postion:C
Height:7'2'
Weight:267
Age:22
Reason:Thabeet is a cant miss prospect and fits are needs perfictly a bruiser to go along with are 2 great perimiter players in Gay and Mayo. Thabeet is a great rebounder and at 7'2' can get his shot over just about anybody, also he is a great defender, and should be a great complament to Marc Gasol. Most people think we shoud take the cant miss prospect out of Spain, Ricky Rubio but i am not convinced that he is as good as some say he is, plus where going to give Mike Conley more time to devlop before we give up on him, besides we also have the 27 pick to pick up a backup for Conley.
Oklahoma City Thunder are on the clock:

With the Third Pick in the NBA Draft, the Oklahoma City Thunder Select, James Harden from Arizona State.
Height: 6'5
Weight: 222
Position: Shooting Guard
We feel that James is a very good pick at #3. Not going to lie though, had Thabeet fallen here, we would have grabbed him. James brings a variety of things to the table. First we feel that his transistion to the NBA will be very smooth because of his highly developed game and high maturity levels. Second, he is a threat to score from anywhere on the floor. James has always understood his role in a game which we feel will be a very important aspect for our team. He will know when he needs to help Durant with the scoring and when he needs to dish the ball to others. This also gives us a chance for another scorer in our line-up. Westbrook can start at point, James will play shooting guard, Durant will move up to small forward, Green can go to power forward, and hopefully we can pick up a dominant big man with our 30 mil in cap space

With the 4th pick of the 2009 NBA Draft the Sacramento Kings Select:
Ricky Rubio
Position: PG
Height: 6-3
Weight: 180 pounds
Age: 18
Country: Spain
The cornerstone of many NBA teams relies on the point guard. Rubio draws comparisons to Calderon and Nash and could very well be the next elite franchise guard. At only 18 years of age Rubio has a great amount of experience playing professionally in Europe and for the Spanish national team. His size and speed to go along with his maturity are what we need.
The Washington Wizards are now on the clock.

With the 5th pick of the 2009 NBA Draft the Washington Wizards Select:
Tyreke Evans
Position: SG/PG
Height: 6-5
Weight: 221 pounds
Age: 19
School: Memphis
Wingspan: 6-11Ľ (same as Blake Griffin and best among guards
Standing Reach: 8-8 (best amont guards, 1 inch shorter then Blake Griffin)
Reason - The Wizards cannot believe a prospect like Evans slipped especially going as the third guard taken off the boards in this draft. We feel that the only knock on Tyreke was his jumpshot, but that is something that can be easily fixed and he is a gym rat, so that was actually not a worry to us. We were really impressed with his length and that will allow us to run Gilbert at the 1 or 2 and Tyreke will be able to guard the 2 if he is playing the 1 so Gilbert can be more of a scorer. Tyreke's measurements remind us of DWade, except he is longer. Wade jumped 35" in 2003, Evans 34" in 2009. Wade did the 3/4 court in 3.08, Evans 3.17, so we feel much like Wade, Evans shot will improve, and he is also very strong with an NBA ready body (impressive for a freshman and like Wade). He is also an excellent ball handler and can play the point and we can run Gilbert at the 2 as mentioned and he has very good vision. Likes to create on the fly, and with Caron, Antawn and Andray/JaVahle (and nick young on the bench).
If Gilbert wasn't locked up to a long term deal we would have seriously considered Jrue Holiday more, he is going to be a good guard.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are on the clock.

With the 6th pick in the 2009 NBA draft the Minnesota Timberwolves select:
Johnny Flynn
Position: PG
Height: 6'0"
Weight:185 pounds
School: Syracuse
Reason:
The Timberwolves really need a true point. Roye and Telfair have never really panned out and Flynn is the answer. He can score, hes great in the clutch, and can play a bunch of minutes (6-OT,UCONN game). At six foot hes short but long. He creates contact around the basket and has a very good veritcle leap. We also considered Jrue Holiday but we thought Johnny was our guy.
The Golden State Warriors are on the clock.
