Ha I am all for gay marriage and marijuana! People that think those things are ridiculous.

My point is that to ban assault rifles is not going to do anything but make people feel good simply because there are so many on the market already. If anything, stop the sales and manufacture of new weapons.

My point is that it's the same line of reasoning.

That's very true, but what is a ban on new weapons going to do when all the firepower imaginable is already available?

So are you suggesting that the feds go home to home searching and collecting all guns?

Not even close. Where did that come from?

There's also the question of the different classification. If an assault rifle is just a hunting rifle, why the different classification?

I'm just curious about that statement. How can they enforce a ban on what's already out there? People are not going to voluntarily give up there guns.

Ha and here's the thing - people do use these assault rifles as hunting rifles. my brother-in-law has an AR-15 he just bought for coyote hunting.

Well, I haven't actually suggested anything. Too many people come to the table with a solution in mind. Any real solution is going to come from talking about it, not be brought into the conversation. I have never once offered a solution.

That's fine but doesn't tell me why they are classified differently.

Yeah you are right...but it doesn't matter what we think it only matters what our politicians think anyways.

They are classified differently because they are supposed to be used by two different types of people.

    1. Soldiers who are assaulting others
    2. Hunters who are hunting animals

I suppose if I were to use a hunting rifle against another human they would call it an assault rifle? Idk..

If the classification is that pointless, maybe a better system of classification is the first step needed.

clicked on the link and it lead to their website, went to my local store(on website) and no guns were listed.are you looking at their website or the store? there is a big difference

You stated you can't buy guns at walmart. I put a link to my walmart and they state that they are in stores only. I don't understand the confusion you are saying. According to "In Stores Only", that in fact states you can purchase them there.
