A "Hall of Stats" Approach to Hockey
Baseball isn't everything.
Well, maybe it is. But bear with me. There are some other sports out there and I really don't spend much time following them. These sports also have Halls of Fame. Obviously, I spend a lot of time thinking about the Baseball Hall of Fame. But lately, I've been thinking about these other, quieter Halls.
Originally, I was thinking it might be neat to make Halls of Stats for other sports from advanced metrics, but I figured I'd save my time and go right to the list people care about—who's outside the Hall and (perhaps) should be in?

Shanny will get in next year, should have been this year before Sundin...Andreychuk, 600 goals should be enough!...unfortunately a lot of people care more about how fancy your goals are than how many, but this is Hockey, not figure skating...Housley is also a no brainer...but if Selanne and Jagr retire after this season, 2 players will have to wait another year...

Ron Hextall, the guy that Wayne Gretzky said was the best goalie he ever played against. But he never will.
I'd like to see Sergei Fedorov get in. 17 goals shy of 500 in the dead-puck era of the 90s, won a Hart and a Selke, was the top scorer on the Russian 5 in Detroit, won 2 Cups, and those Nike commercials gotta count for something.Last edited by jmatchett; 02-03-2013 at 07:51 AM.
