A Little Too Much Cap Room

Is that possible? Well, when you have 23 million to spare...

The Islander's have the most room with around 23 million dollars.

    Where should they invest?

I think goaltending needs...attending. Nabby only has one year on his contract, and Poulin isn't exactly....well, I wouldn't really want him in net.

I think Miller will be heading to the Island soon.

Imagine Ryan Miller in an Islanders jersey.

As they often do, the Islanders will be a dumping ground for some team's horrible contract. They were able to reach the cap floor through the bogus Thomas acquisition last year, and no doubt they will find somebody making $2M too much in their roster on opening night.

I bet Bryzgalov heads there on a two year deal.

I still think Bryz will end up in Russia.

Yeah, with the Olympics in Sochi next year, I think Bryz is a good bet to head home. He's probably improve his chances of making the Russian team in the KHL than one of the scant NHL jobs available.

I think the Isles will roll with the same Gs as last season. With Nabokov as the starter and Poulin or Nilsson as backup. They should probably give the ~38-year old Nabokov a few more games off though. The Isles are only likely paying out enough to reach the Salary Floor anyway and after their RFAs are signed, they should be above that point.

I hope for the sake of Millers attitude and my season tickets he doesn't come here. I would rather watch Joey McDonald again in net instead of Miller after he gives up a couple goals.

Maybe Ryan Miller should spend some time with Ilya Bryzgalov, eh?

just think, this is the team that might have upset the Pens in the first round if their management cared at all that they were a hockey team.
