Returning to the hobby and site for first time in 11 years.
Hi everyone, HUGE sports fan here, specifically Minnesota sports ( I know, depressing.) I actually created this account here 11 years ago so I would have been 15 at the time, to do TTM autographs and had some decent success. As I got older other things became a priority (college, women, beer, the usual), well now I'm 26 with a job and a house and a steady income, ready to spend on trading cards again!
I'm totally down with purchasing packs/boxes and ripping packs as that is always fun, but I think I'd like to get into more team/player specific collecting so I can display them in my man cave. I'm going to collect Vikings, T-wolves, Twins and Wild, don't really know what specific style/brand yet. Then Ill collect who ever the heck else I want.
Now a couple questions. For starting to aquire cards for my collection, is ebay the best route?...I would love to trade on here, but I don't feel I quite have the cards to negotiate with.
Also any good recommendations for displaying your cards on the wall?
Thanks for the assistance.

Welcome back. I am also a MN fan/collector! And yes! at times it is quite frustrating! But gotta love the Home Town Teams!! Do you have a list of cards that you do have for trade? That would be one of the first things I would do...organize a trade list. The cards for sale forum here is pretty good but yes, Ebay is a pretty good option; at least in my opinion.
I do have a few display racks on my wall. I will have to take some pics and show you.

Mntwinsfreak- Welcome back. Busting packs and trading for what you like is good too.
Always Looking for:
A) Graded Vintage (Pre-1980) (BGS, BVG, PSA, SGC) in all sports
B) Graded True RC's (No inserts or parallels) (BGS, PSA, SGC) in all sports
C) Certified Auto and GU cards of players from the 70's and further back in all sports

welcome back to SCF! its good that you have gotten the important priorities settled first!
as a personal story, when I first got back in the hobby about this time 9 years ago, I didn't have much either. You'll be amazed about what people are looking for and want for their collections.
One suggestion I can make is @hobbyfan runs team trading in Baseball and Football, where (and I hope I have the details right) you swap team for team. Great way to build up your collection with items you'd want to have.
