Expo Breaks: Decided to lace up with the big boys (Score, Superlative, Titanium)
So, first off huge thanks to scottkoz20, who, within a day's notice, gave me a ride to the expo, and to Mike (mystlsportsportscards) and Suby for some ride assistance as well. Overall, it was an AWESOME day. I ended up going on a breakage spree which I spent over my budget... but oh well :) Also sold my Yzerman/Sakic, Couturier NHL Ink 1/1s and a Geoffrion Titanium rookie to acquire a box of Superlative. First up, the highlights from Score, and a free Arena box of H&P:
So not a great all around break.
On to a product I knew I was going to get if I could find it at the right price, 02/03 Titanium. I didn't get the true RC (sad faced) or any patches, but definitely beat the odds with a Premiere date of Robert Lang /94, JP Damphousse Rookie (Not Numbered) and a few other inserts. I also killed the GU in my opinion, and love the fact that they are the same size as base cards.
Belfour/Turgeon
Kuba/McLennan
Brindamour/Cole
Roy/Blake
Hrdina/Brendal
and Potvin/Theodore.
Those were bought after my first ever super high-end purchase. If you ever are thinking about busting a High-Ender... bust Superlative. Enough said. Knowing what came out of the first book, it was an easy, very easy, decision to pick up the second book, especially with 2 redemptions... My highest numbered card was /20... everything else was /10 or less. For those keeping track at home, book number #558.
On to the show:
Brendan Dillion Auto Jersey Gold 9/10 (3clr)
Ryan Kesler Auto & Jersey Silver 1 of 20
Redemption #1:
Jonathan Quick, Marcel Dionne, Luc Robitaille, Rogie Vachon, Bernie Nichols Quintuple Jersey Silver 5/9 SOLD
Doug Gilmour Patch Gold 1 of 9 SOLD
Martin Brodeur/Patrick Roy/Ed Belfour Famous Fabrics Stats Leaders Triple Jersey Silver 4/9
When this card doesn't crack your top 3, you know you are doing something right:
Cam Neely Superlative Game-Used Jersey Gold 2/3
Gordie Howe Superlative Autograph Silver SP 1 of 15
With the last 3-4 cards, those would be a case hit type card in Dominion or the Cup. In Superlative, you can get them all in the same book. I'd be HAPPY at this point with the book... Fortunately there are still 2 cards to go:
Redemption #2:
Nail Yakupov, Pavel Bure, Alexander Ovechkin, Alexander Yakushev, and Valari Kharlamov 'From Russia With Love' Quintuple jersey 1/9
A very, very nice hit, and the Bure and Yakushev pieces are just gorgeous,
Anyways, the reason for the corny title... Hey Luigi, your brother's shoe lace is untied:
Mario Lemieux Skate Lace... GOLD 1/1.
Needless to say I was very, very, very happy and was shaking from it. Anyways, thanks for looking, comments appreciated!Last edited by flopfish; 11-11-2012 at 11:10 PM.

I was extremely happy with the Howe, Neely, and Kesler. The Lemieux was gravy :)
