How do you feel about Ovechkin's showmanship after his 50th goal?

For those of you who haven't read what happened, Ovechkin scored his 50th goal of the season!

You can read all about it here:
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=2718...=headlines_nhl

Or the video here:

Ovechkin is well known for his enjoyment of and celebratory nature after scoring a goal. This time, scoring his 50th goal for the third season was followed by a new celebration. He placed his stick on the ice and warmed his hands over it.

What's you opinion on that? Too much? Not enough? Just right? Does this affect his hobby love for the better or worse? Vote & chime in.

Ovechkin took one out of Chad Johnson's playbook and it was better! But it was over the top.

I know how professional sport frown upon "excessive" celebratory gestures, but I say give the person there moment to shine. As long as it isnt insulting to the opposing team. I dont feel Ovechkins 50th goal celebration was an insult to the Lightning. lets face it his stick is "hot", 3 50 goals season in 4 years...WOW....its ON FIRE.....

Way over the top. Doesn't really bother me.... but I can see why others might get annoyed. I'm just waiting for the NHL to invoke limitations on celebrations... a la the NFL.

He could did something a little bit cooler. I personally didnt like the "dance" he did. But, some people need to stop with this stuff (not you reoddai). Ovechkin celebrates to much after a goal. Its ridiclous. So what he gets over excited. He brings alot of excitment to the game. And if you ever watched a Capitals game at home, you would know what im talking about.

I appreciate the comment. I tried to word the first post as neutrally as possible and didn't vote until others voted.

Washington was one of those hockey towns that felt... muted to me before Ovechkin. I mean Jagr brought some talen when he was there, but other than that... Now that Ovechkin is there, you can see how much the NHL meant to the people in that state. He's getting the keys to the city, and is very much a popular figure. The excitement he does bring with every goal would be a blessing for any hockey town.

I only posted this question because its his 50th goal and this celebration was slightly different than his regular. Its his third 50th goal season (in a row?) and the first for the Caps for a captain or for any player. Just interesting to see the public's reaction to this since the different opinions from the onair pundits and the bloggasphere have made their views well know.

Cheers,
reoddai

His celebration was relevant (hot stick = 50 goals), not insulting to the other team, and not too long. I'm okay with it. :)
