anderson nets florida two big points
BY: Russ Cohen
2009-03-27 Philadelphia - - Losers of their last seven of eight Craig Anderson was between the pipes for Florida in a must-win game for the Panthers. They had to get two points in the worst way if they were going to keep their playoff hopes alive. He was tested early in the period and a post and a nice play by blueliner Jay Bouwmeester helped keep the game scoreless. Florida’s Greg Campbell and Daniel Carcillo went at it at the 19:57 mark. It was a draw. But the game would get chippier. Florida broke the scoreless tie when Bouwmeester took a nice slap shot at 11:25 of the first period and that shot was deflected by power play specialist Cory Stillman and that puck went high into the back of the net to give his team the 1-0 lead. Stephen Weiss got the other helper. Flyers forward Scott Hartnell almost tied up the game, on wig night where fans wore a sample of his dew, but he rang the post. The next trip down the ice Jeff Carter wristed one in to make it a 1-1 game at 14:07 of the middle period. http://www.sportsology.info/article.php?ArticleID=7273
