Convention Cards

Hi All, Does anyone have any information on limited convention cards. I have two cards of Lew Ford and both are numbered to five. One is 1/5 and the other is 3/5. Im a fan of Fords so these cards are of value to me,but I have had some interest from people to sell them one card. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Mike

Are these the ones from the National a year ago or two? I have an 03 Donruss Kevin Young card #1/5, from the 03 National, I think, and it has value to me as well cause I'm a Pirates collector. Not sure what the value is, but curious if your cards are the same as mine.

I have a national 04 fleer tradition kellen winslow jr (football) card... it is "10 of 10"
does that mean there was a set of 10 or this is 10/10?

I'm curious to find out myself...I'm hoping it's 1/5...rather than the set of 5. (in my case, in your case it would be 10s...)

Here's the deal with convention cards.
I've never been to one, but I know how they work.

You buy some packs (4 or 5) of that company's product and you open it at their booth.
When you do that, they give you a card from a base set that has been stamped with the convention logo. These are not available anywhere else.

I'm pretty sure that if it says X/10 or X of 10, they both mean that only 10 exist in the world.
I'm not sure of the value of these, as they are not considered regualr cards #'d to 10, and don't really hold that much value. They're kinda a "I guess you had to be there" thing.

Hope that helped.
Regards!
Mike

Hey Everyone thanks so much for the feedback. Both cards are stamped with the convention logo and are numbered to 5! Like I said earlier one is stamped 1/5 and the other is 3/5. One is Donruss Elite 1/5 and the other is a fleer product...I think? Thanks again, Mike

Again, I don't think they hold a lot of value, except to a collector of that player, but still a cool card to have.

Regards!

I've heard they don't hold much value too and have seen people selling them on ebay for very high prices and they don't sell.
They are only worth something to those who collect them or if it's of somebody or a team you like.

"10/10" means that there are only 10 of that card
"10 of 10" means that there are 10 different versions of that card but theres no telling how many exsist...probably in the thousands..

Usually "10 of 10's" or "5 of 5's" or whatever, are a series of cards depicting the same player or team on each of the ten cards but in different stances, etc.

Hope that cleared things up!:D
