Acie Earl c/o Home. 26 days. 2 of 3. Kept 1 of my cards and replaced it with some ad for something. He signed that. Also sent along a note about a youth team or something he works with. At bottom had circles around how much he charges and noted that I owe $9
Well I don't agree with this and will not be able to send a donation. If he is going to charge he should send the cards back with his prices. Not do what he did and sign, then ask for $. I sent to him with the basis that I was not going to be charged. I had no idea on it. And he kept a card and replaced it with the crappy signed flyer. So I also don't get how he gets off saying I owe $9 when he only signed 2 of my things and kept 1. I'd say only send to him if you want to pay. And for anyone thinking bad of me please don't. It's the concept. I have no problem paying for an auto if I really wanted it, but I went into this not planning to pay anything. Like I said if he wants to charge let him, but don't sign and then send me a bill pretty much.
UPDATE: Upon reading letter I guess it forces me to send donation. He says he will post my name on his site as a selfish autograph seeker and email others and tell them the same. I do not know how true this is or the legalities of it, but I may send something in.
Checked his site and there is no such non donater list. This guy is full of garbage pretty much.Last edited by roaddogg02316; 03-02-2010 at 06:38 PM.

That's almost twisted. I'd send back a post it with "LOL" written on it.

some players do that.. they will sign your card and ask for a donation in return... its kinda like one hand washes the other he did a nice thing for you by signing your cards you wanted signed and sent them back to you and the fair thing would to send a donation back... look at it this way atleast you got most of your stuff back signed which is cool cause you wanted them signed in the first place thats why you sent to him.. frank viola keep my cards and sent a postcard back saying if i wanted them i had to send $ to him and he would sign them and send them back so i had to pay him to get my cards back... so i think you made out pretty good in the long run and its up to you if you want to help him out for the nice thing he did for you... just my 2 cents...

^I have gotten a few of those lately.
Andre Dawson sent me a sheet to fill out for his foundation.
Jim Bouton sent a printed note stating in return for a free autograph, please send $5 to my favorite charity, and he sent it.
Most recently was yesterday when Roger Brown signed my two cards and also included a typed letter from someone on his behalf, stating that Mr. Brown is glad to assist you in your autograph request, and that he asks I make a donation to his foundation to help children and young people in need.
I will send money to each. On a positive note, NONE of them were being pricks like Acie Earl was.
