Pulling People Off-Site For Trading Activities
In light of a growing trend on SCF and possibly other sites, I feel this is something that needs to be addressed.
When hopping on a chat program like AOL or Yahoo IM or a live program such as BlogTV or UStream, you need to keep the following in mind.
1. We do not control any of the content that you read or see.
2. Be careful about the activities you choose to undertake on these as they have been known to turn into group breaks, raffles, etc. Those cannot be posted in the TM nor will we assist you if anything should go wrong.
3. As for trades, these sites should really be used only to do live breaks or be able to get together one-on-one to finalize a deal. Since chat files are very easy to edit, we do not use them when a trade goes bad...which is why we encourage using the PM system on the site.
Also, unless you are mentioning a live break or doing a site approved event (such as a group break), you cannot post a link on the boards as it is considered pulling people off-site. If you have a friend or a couple of trade partners you want to be a part of something, you can PM them. Do not use the PM system to mass PM a group of people to these places. As mentioned, it should be used primarily as a tool to assist trading activities. As long as they are used in this manner, it reduces a lot of risk for everyone.
