$2M is a big hit to take when you're already up against the cap. but that might be their best option at this point.

Yeah it's a big hit, but at least you free up $3.750 mil. To make it worse they need to resign Niemi (rfa).

they better win the cup this year as they are in some deep cap trouble starting next year. they are already at $56M+ for next year with only 14 guys under contract.
i gotta think they are moving Sharp and Versteeg at least as they have a lot of RFAs to sign as well (Niemi, Ladd, Hendry, Hjalmarsson)

It's going to be interesting to see who stays and who goes. I am just going to enjoy this years cup run and worry about the rest after the victory parade here in Chicago
