Back in 4th grade (late 1990s) wrote SF Giants Catcher Steve Decker got his RC signed TTM via Spring Training..that was the start..Now my son wants to collect autographs..about to start at it again...The database helps so I can get some guys I didn't write and he can get some of the players he likes..

When I was a kid I got Gretz and Walter Peyton - which was pretty darn cool at the time. Just got back into the swing of getting TTMs going out last summer - this was the first one I got back - it's been a ball for me and my daughter who really enjoys getting the big manilla envelopes as well!

Walter loved to sign autographs. He'd stand outside and do it for hours as long as he was certain that at least every kid there got one.

Looking through older threads and found this. My first was Brandon Stokley back in 4th grade? My mom brought it during lunch and I got to show all of my friends. 2 years ago when I got back in to this my first was Joe Kocur.

I got a bo Jackson preprint when he was with the whitesox! I love ttm still but none of my success will ever top the excitement of getting that one. I thought it was real for several years then I started testing it and realized it was a preprint. I still have it framed on the wall though.

Either whitey Herzog or mike Mussina . Got both in the same week but I can't remember who came first. Both in 2009 or 2010

My very 1st ttm (actual baseball) was Bobby Doerr. Being a loyal, lifelong Red Sox fan I was stoked to see he had a 100% success rate. Being my first attempt, I wanted a sure thing.
Im pretty new to ttm (started a year ago), but it's definitely been the most fun hobby I've ever had. It's quite addicting. I never collected much as a kid, but since having a child of my own, wanted to be able to leave him something when my time is up. Thought collecting autographs would be a fun way to bond with him, and leave him treasured memories of me when I go. It's definitely the best decision I've ever made I think. My collection now sits at over 200 baseballs, mainly ttm or IP. Very few purchased (under 20).
my son is 3 now, and actually gets into graphing with me. That's the best part I think. I'll always be a fan of the game, but knowing that Travis Snyder was the 1st player to ever take a ball from my son and sign for him makes me incredibly happy. Snyder may be an average (at best) player, but he'll always hold significant sentimental value in my collection.
