PSA Tribute to Babe Ruth, Free Magazines & Books at 2010 National
Visitors to the 2010 National Sports Collectors Convention will have an opportunity to see an exhibit of rare Babe Ruth baseball cards and also have an opportunity to receive a free magazine and book from Professional Sports Authenticator (www.PSAcard.com). The show will be held in the Baltimore, Maryland Convention Center, August 4 - 8, 2010.
"Baltimore is the birthplace of Babe Ruth. PSA will pay tribute to 'The Sultan of Swat' by displaying classic 1930's era Goudey, Sport Kings and U.S. Caramel cards of Ruth as well as seldom-seen 1920s American Caramel and other candy and ice cream Ruth cards from the collection of PSA Set Registry Hall of Fame honoree, Donald E. Spence of Texas," said Joe Orlando, President of PSA, a division of Collectors Universe, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLCT).
"For many fans this display will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to personally see a diverse collection of historic Ruth cards beginning with the Boston Red Sox, tracing his legendary career with the New York Yankees and finishing with the Boston Braves."
In conjunction with organizers of the National, the first 5,000 attendees to the show will receive a free copy of the latest edition of Sports Market Report (SMR), PSA's authoritative monthly price guide for trading cards and other sports memorabilia. This special edition of SMR will feature sensational Washington Nationals rookie pitcher, Stephen Strasburg, on the cover and informative articles about collecting cards and memorabilia of Baltimore sports legends such as Eddie Murray, Jim Palmer, Cal Ripken Jr., Brooks Robinson and Johnny Unitas.
Visitors who purchase a VIP admission package will receive a free copy of the acclaimed Collecting Sports Legends, a hardbound, large format book by Orlando that blends career highlights of America's top sports stars from yesteryear to today with some of the hobby's best memorabilia related to them.
Visitors to the PSA booth will have an opportunity to meet in person the authors of the impressive new book, The T206 Collection: The Players & Their Stories. Authors Tom Zappala, Ellen Zappala and Lou Blasi will sign autographs on Saturday, August 7. To mark the 100th anniversary of the famous T206 set, one of the renowned Honus Wagner cards will be displayed at the booth.
PSA will offer on-site grading, and PSA/DNA Authentication Services autograph experts will be available to examine and certify previously-signed autographs. Customer Service Representatives will be at the booth to answer questions and accept submissions for all levels of PSA and PSA/DNA services.

is that good or bad, i never got anything graded by them, and if you do a 2 or 3 day turnaround (if they even do that) it would be cheaper i assume

Here is an update:
Join PSA and PSA/DNA at the 31st National Sports Collectors ConventionBaltimore, Maryland August 4 - 8, 2010
THE FOUNDATION OF ALL GREAT COLLECTIONS
As many of you know, PSA will be attending the 31st National Sports Collectors Convention to perform on-site card grading and autograph authentication from August 4 - 8, 2010. On-site card grading is a great way to have your submissions processed immediately, avoiding the time and expense of shipping your cards across the country.
Normally, our on-site card grading fees range from $35 to $250, depending on the declared value of the cards. Traditionally, most submitters have chosen on-site grading for their more valuable cards due to the fees involved.
There are, however, a large number of hobbyists who have expressed interest in grading cards of lesser value at the shows. In response, we are going to run aggressive on-site card grading specials for those cards with a declared value below $500 (per card). The specials will be based on quantity and the available pricing will be as follows:
Number of CardsPSA On-site Price Per Card
10 - $2525 - $2050 - $17.50100 - $15200 - $12
Since PSA is expecting a tremendous amount of interest in this special, anyone interested in taking advantage of this special should contact Customer Service toll-free at (800) 325-1121 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve grading placement for the weekend.
Placement will be based on a first come, first serve basis.
Thank you for your continued support of PSA. For those of you traveling to Baltimore in August, we look forward to seeing you at the show.
