    New SCF Inventory/Storefront/OPG System!

    Inventory/Storefront/OPG
After a year of programming, I'm pleased to announce that the official SCF FREE Inventory Manager is available to all members today. You can access it from the second navigation bar:

The old inventory manager will point to the new card management system. While this should be considered the "BETA" release for testing, it is fully functional and will replace the old inventory system. We will be producing dozens of tutorials (text and video) over the next few weeks to assist members understand how the new card manager work and how it will interact with the new storefront. For now, it is very intuitive so give it a try!

This release lets members use a new and improved inventory system. This inventory system can be used to maintain an inventory of your cards that you can designate for sale/trade or personal collection. If you designate them for sale or trade, they will be listed in the future storefronts. For now, buying will be disabled while we continue to finalize the transaction system. We expect to go live with version 1.0 (selling enabled) this autumn. Your feedback is critical to make this inventory system and future storefront system work. Please take time to add cards into your inventory system right away. While the transaction part is disabled, members can contact the seller through the system and buy/trade items like we do daily on the forum by posting deals in the trade manager. Soon this will all be automated!

I'm setting up a Inventory/Storefront/OPG Forum on SCF for people to provide feedback on the existing system and to provide suggestions for improvements. Please provide all inputs and bug reports there.

This will also be where our official Card Cash store will reside. Members will be able to shop all items that are for sale for Card Cash and it will be automated (when the storefront goes live).

    Inventory/Storefront/OPG Features (Current and future)
    - Database and inventory system with millions of available cards (available now)
    - Inventory system - members can buy, sell or trade items or make their items as personal collection (PC items won't go into the storefront system)
    - Ability to buy/sell items in different currencies to include SCF Card Cash
    - Filter your search/browsing by sport, year, attributes (autograph, memorabilia, etc), print run and price (available now)
    - Full featured auction system with "Buy it Now" and "Make Offer" (replacing current vbay system)
    - Full integration of SCF member accounts (Send message, feedback scores, etc) (available now)
    - Much, much more!

    Online Price Guide (OPG)
We are planning to release the SCF OPG in 2011. The OPG/Storefront database (millions of cards) is the framework for this free Inventory system. Use the system to add cards for trade/sale or to just manage an inventory of your personal collection. While more additions are planned for the future (like an advanced player collector module), we want to improve this inventory/Storefront before moving on to new projects.

    A Year of Hard Work!
There are a LOT of people to thank for making this system possible.

First, Luc (CoolHandLuke)has been the primary project lead on developing this system. He is an outstanding programmer and has produced a first-class product for us! He will continue to work out all the future bugs and improvements. He is eager for feedback!

Second, we do have a Inventory/Storefront/OPG team with Andrew (andrewcstein) leading an outstanding team. This system would not be possible without Luc's programming and the Storefront/OPG team inputting millions of cards into our database. We also had dozens of testers and other contributors. Thanks to everyone that made this possible!

I also made a 24 minutes video to explain how to use it. I am french so my english is not that good but we are working on better demo soon.

Glad this is finally available to all. I have already listed cards in my Inventory and it is very user friendly to use. Take the time as Mike said to try it out, you won't be disappointed! Also as Mike said Luc again has created a TOP NOTCH program (previous was the TTM database!) so a special THANK YOU to Luc and also Andrewcstein for his outstanding leadership of his team!

    Cool

Woohoo! I've already put some of my cards into the system. I love this. Yes, there is a little room for improvement but mostly relatively minor stuff. I'll be coming up with some thoughtful suggestions soon.

Since we removed the link to the old inventory manager on the forum menu bar on top, here a fast link to it.

No data have been deleted. Eventually we will have a importer but since anyone enter text themselves, we might not be able to match some cards. The importer will come in some future upgrade.

This looks very promising. I have one question though. When I first clicked on the link to the beta site it showed a basic instructions for using the system. I can't find that now. Where did it go? I would like to delete a few cards I added because I inadvertently mixed up the images.

Ignore my question, I think I found my answer.

Obviously there will be some cards missed that are not in the database. Is there a place where we can make a note that so and so card is missing from the database ??
